Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects Just finished listening to the Doc show and Jim Zorn stated that he will, with out a doubt, draft a QB. My question is who, other than Sanchez would you want? I would like Pat White, because he could help out on punt returns and I like the idea of Zorn making up some trick plays for him. |

I understood him to say that he was just looking to bring in some camp competition and was willing to look to free agency, rather than just the draft. But, to go with your question, many people project White in the second or third or fourth round. We have only one pick in those rounds barring a trade. I would prefer us to use that pick on a lineman rather than on someone who can run trick plays, as you described. |
Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects People really seem to like the kid from Buffalo, Lilly, Willy, Milli Vanilli...something like that. I can't remember his name |

Then next year when, Collins is gone, he can be kick returner/trick guy/ emergency 3rd QB and all with just one roster spot. |
Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects we just got our punter in hunter smith!? |

Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects If you REALLY want another QB in camp - - I don't - - and you are looking at seventh round picks, check out Chase Holbrook (NMSU). Big and strong. Not elusive by any means (not good behind this OL but let's hope it gets better in a year or two). He is a project to be sure - - as would be just about any QB taken that low in the draft - - other than Saint Colt of Brennan of course. |
Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects Later on, maybe Rhett Bomar of Sam Houston State. He was at Oklahoma but had to leave because he violated NCAA rules for getting paid while not actually working a job. He still has that Oklahoma-level talent. |
Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects Can't we just re-draft Brennan? |
Re: Other than Sanchez ... QB prospects Lotus: Bomar has talent - - but he has played against nobody since he left OU. He played against weaker opposition than Brennan did at Hawaii. I know it worked for Flacco but history has not been kind to QBs from "minor schools" in the last 20 years. |

That's why I said late round. I don't want us to take a qb high, I'd rather rebuild our lines or nab a LB. So my recommendation is going to be for a late pick and he's my favorite in that category. Heck, I'd rather not draft a qb at all but that is not in the spirit of this thread. |
