Browns Game
 

I know that I am looking forward a bit here but is anyone going to the Browns game next Sunday?

My wife got me two tickets for fathers day, so I am looking forward to it. This will be only my 2nd redskins game that I have ben to. The first was back in '92 at RFK I was 13years old so I am really looking forward to this one. It is kinda neat that both of the games I went to Joe Gibbs was the head coach, pretty cool!!

Also I have a 3.5 year old that I want to take to the game, does he need a ticket if he wont be using a seat? We took him to a couple O's games last year and they told us there that as long as he sits on our lap that he wont need a ticket, I am not sure if it will work this way too.

Different stadiums have different rules. Cleveland doesn't list the policy on their website. (440) 891-5093 is the phone number for their events manager. She should be able to answer your question about seating.

A word of advice - I took my 2 1/2 year old son to training camp. Pray a lot.

when i was at training camp, lots of people brought 3-8 year old, and all the father's ending up leaving before they wanted to ;)

but it was really hot and crowded/cramped, so a stadium game should be a bit better on personal space... but its going to be loud, dunno how your kid does with loud...

I am going. Can't wait I am sure there is a tailgate party involved in this one. My advice on taking the little one to the game. Don't do it. 1st will the child get anything out of it? Socalizing with 65,000 is not a skill that is needed in life. Hire a baby sitter and let the kid enjoy things like swingsets, bubbles, and any disney channel show. If your child can sit there for 4 quarters then you are trully blessed and you should start teaching your child the words to HAil to the Redskins. Good luck and maybe you willl catch me there. CRT3 where will your seats be at? I will be wearing Taylor (white). The reason why I wnat to bring my son is because I have him singing "Hail to the Redskins" already. Also he is very interseted in sports for a 3 year old, I mean since he could walk he would try to tackle me if I sat on the floor during a football game. He really absolutly loves sports, I wanted to try to get him into t-ball this summer but they wouldnt let him because he is only 3. That might sound a little extreem about putting him in t-ball at an early age but me and him practice hitting in our yard and he can hit pretty good for 3 and i dont mean grounders. THE BOY GOT SKILLS!!! But I will take your advice I understand what you are saying!!

Taking a 3 1/2 year old kid to a regular season NFL game is NOT a great idea unless the kid is ABSOLUTESY a sports prodiigy; there's no room for "ifs" or "possibles" or "maybes" here! If he cannot continually be entrhalled by the game istself, all of the pre-game nonsense and the timeouts and the halftime silliness will confuse him just enough that you and the 50 people in the seats nearest to you will hope that he will either go to sleep or suffer a cerebral hemmorhage by the beginning of the 4th quarter.

If you think he is a really great sports fan for a 3 1/2 year old, you should not take him. My wife is a really great sports fan compared to 3 1/3 year old and she would not know a halfback from a hunchback. She thinks a "hurry-up offense" is whan you are in a hurry to get to the Metro platform and some doofus blocks the escalator.

Teach the kid football - and sports in general - until you are POSITIVE he can hold his attention to the game at hand for the complete duration of that game. It can be football or basketball or baseball or mumbley-peg. After YOU are confident that he is ready to be part of an attentive crowd for 3.5 hours of an NFL game, then take him.

BTW, the first game I saw live was when I was 5 years old in 1948...

I say take him...Since you don't get to many games...Atleast when he is older you can tell your son that he was at a Skins game coached by Gibbs just like his Dad was.

My only skins game was with Shottenheimer(sp?)....I am jealous.

Browns game
 

I'm taking my 5 year old to the cowboys game monday night.He's been to a wizards game and loved it.Granted a skins game is a lot louder and he doesn't like real loud noises,but he has earplugs.Hopefully he'll enjoy the band, especially if they play alot.The energy and atomosphere is one thing I want him to enjoy.My wife and 15 year old will be there also to help keep him occupied.We will all be wearing jerseys 24,11,81 I know it will start after he normally is in bed,but we will all stay home tuesday to recover.
