What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?

Out of all the RB in minicamp, who do you think will make the roster, where at on roster, and why? We have Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Alridge, Dorsey, and Mason competing to be on the team roster. Obviously Portis is probably a lock at the #1 slot, but from there it is not 100% certain in my book. What do you think is in the best interest for the Redskins at the RB positions?

1. Portis
2. Betts
3. Cartwright

Same as last year.

Couldn't agree more! Mason has nice wiggle...but can't pick up the bltiz. These three are the best available. Unless that "speed back" Aldridge proves to be a worthy scat-back. Then he can replace Cartwright.

Take it to the bank.

Portis-obviously. Betts-too much money tied up. Cartwright-Special teams + player and returner. No one else even has a shot in any way.

I think this is right; however Rock could be at greater risk than last season.

Portis and Betts are locks. Cartwright, i'm not so sure about. He has teams value, yes, but he's old and we never ever ever want to see him take a snap at RB.

I dont think Mason has a chance, but i wouldnt be surprised if Dorsey or Aldridge replaced Cartwright as a 3rd RB/ST player. Guys like Tryon, Barnes and some of the receivers we've been looking at could replace some of Cartwrights duties on special teams. More likely than not, we go with Cartwright another year, but he's going to have to fight really hard to keep his job.

I think this might be the year for Cartwright to go. If that happens I'm betting Aldridge is #3 on the depth chart. If he leaves his locker room presence will be missed.

Rock seems to be on the block every year with the fans. I doubt he's going anywhere.

He's part of the fan's "All-Cut" team...
- Rock
- ARE
- Rabach
- Jensen
- Campbell
- Sellers (2008 offseason)

anyways, if anybody is going to replace someone on that lineup of 3, I'll say Alridge

they've had him doing returns, lining up as a wideout, and running the rock - versatility that Rock can't provide, or at least hasn't been asked to

a lot of people in Denver were excited about Alridge before his injury and I think that this year or next he could easily be a number 3 back anywhere and a number 2 on many teams

1. Portis
2. Betts
3. Alridge (also returning kicks)

There. I said it. I love Rock but sooner or later he'll go. I predict sooner. I believe that the FO picked up two speed burners early in the offseason for a reason.

I agree. I know we go through this every year with Rock, but if one of these guys can push him at all, I believe they'll let him go. At least I think that's what they are really trying to do. Rock is good, but I really think they're trying to add some speed.
