Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
Ok, this was a facebook application that I did that I was interested to see what others thought. It was to name who you want to start at QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRs.
I chose: QB- Peyton Manning - I beleive him to be the best QB of all time. He has it all, brains and skills. Skills such as arm strength, sure others have him, even on accuracy as well, but no QB has ever been smarter IMO. RB- Barry Sanders - I am still upset he retired. What a joy to watch. He didn't even need a line, he created his own holes...what an amazing talent. TE- Tony Gonzalez - The man can play offense like no other. Maybe a few were better offensively but that's debatable, but the way he played on offense, AND his blocking skills put him at the top of my list. WR1- Jerry Rice - I don't think I need to explain. WR2- Art Monk - This pick would be up for serious debate outside of a redskins forum, but I chose Art because he was money. The man could catch anything and was extremely reliable. He would be an amazing compliment to Jerry Rice. Art did all the little things and was WAAAY under appreciated. All of those players together have something in common...they all have a remarkable amount of class and are stand up citizens. All are true role models. What are yours? |

QB: Dan Marino - could have gone with Manning, Peyton here but Marino was absurdly good with fairly subpar receivers.
RB: Walter Payton - Best ever, this guy used to train like no other and he is the prototype of today's runing back TE: Shannon Sharpe - This guy could have been a wide receiver he was that effective on offense WR1: Jerry Rice - This isn't even an argument WR2: Jerry Rice, lol, Terrell Owens - say what you want about this guy being a douche (which he is), he is second on the all time list for touchdowns and consistently produces with different qbs every 2 years. |

Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
QB: Joe Montana-because I want to win and he wins
RB: Clinton Riggins-because how awesome would that be? Fun loving character during the week (Who occassionally speaks a little too much) but works his ass of on Sunday (with or without the ball) WR: Randy Moss-because Jerry Rice is too obvious and Moss is a freak of nature WR2: Steve Largent-I need I can always count on to get me 10 yards on 3rd and 9 TE: Ozzie Newsome-because I plan on promoting him after he retires |

Peyton Manning
Gale Sayers Tony Gonzalez Jerry Rice Marvin Harrison with Don Hutson coming off the bench. I think Jim Brown is the greatest to ever play, but I don't think he'd be quick enough to play against today's defenders. Sayers absolutely would be. Manning will retire as the best ever, Rice did, and Marvin is the second best receiver in the history of the game. As for Gonzo, I dunno, easy call. I can't imagine that Ditka or Mackey was more dominant for longer than Gonzo has been. |

QB - John Elway. The Broncos were never out of a game with him at QB. 4 Superbowl appearances and 2 wins. The guy was money.
RB - Barry Sanders. He never played behind a dominant offensive line yet he was still the most electrifying RB I've ever watched. A genuine good guy too. TE - Mark Bavarro. He was Phil Simms security blanket. He was a hard-nosed player who seemed to rise to the occasion in big games. WR - Art Monk. No explanation necessary. If you need one, turn in your Warpath membership card. WR - Sterling Sharpe. If not for injury, he could have been the best ever (I seriously believe that). I loved watching him play. HAIL!! |
Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
This is subject to change but I would'nt mind this lineup:
QB - Peyton Manning - He is one of the smartest QB's ever. RB - Earl Campbell - Bruise 'em baby! TE - Tony Gonzalez - You really need a reason? WR - Jerry Rice - The best. WR - Gary Clark - Great receiver and love his attitude. |
Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
QB-Colt Brennan
RB-Barry Sanders TE-Tony Gonzalez WR-Randy Moss WR-Jerry Rice |
Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
QB-Joe Montana
RB-Walter Payton WR1-Randy Moss WR2-Marvin Harrison TE-Tony Gonzalez Montana is a winner Payton could do it all- speed, power, elusiveness Randy Moss for the jump balls and deep threat Marvin Harrison to work the sidelines Tony Gonzalez for durability and the red zone effectiveness |
Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
QB: Johnny Unitas - great arm, great leader
RB: Barry Sanders - I do not expect to ever see a better runner TE: Tony Gonzalez - can catch and block with the best WR1: Jerry Rice - obvious choice but who did it better WR2: Raymond Berry - clutch hands on 3rd down intermediate routes |
Re: Name your all time starting QB, RB, TE, and 2 WRS and why...
Montana, Rice, R. Moss, B. Sanders, T. Gonzales.
