May power rankings = fail

Re: ESPN Power Rankings
wow, those are some crazy rankings.

Re: ESPN Power Rankings
The only thing more useless are mock drafts for 2010 right after the 2009 draft.

Re: ESPN Power Rankings
Gotta have something to read until June 1 gives us something to talk about. Having the cowboys ahead of us is a mistake.

I actually think the top 20 of those rankings is pretty accurate based on last year's performances and the additions/subtractions thus far in the offseason. But in general these kind of rankings/polls are just space fillers until at least the preseason. |

But in general these kind of rankings/polls are just space fillers until at least the preseason.[/quote] Projecting how a team will perform based on last year isn't very solid. How many of these so-called evaluators picked Miami, Atlanta and even the Cardinals to roll last year? These guys are worse than weathermen and politicians! |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
I can't wait for football to start.
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
Power rankings can't be even close to accurate until after 1/4 of the season is played. It's fun to play, but don't take offense to it...
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
At this point all those guys have to go on is what they did last season and factor in any additions/subtractions in terms of key personnel. They did ask the two biggies with us though. IS AH going to be a total stud for us and is JC going to go all out for us in lieu of us looking to ditch him?
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
I am not sure that the whole "JC will play well because a chip on his shoulder" holds much water, I just hope that his second year with this offense will mimic weeks 1-8 of last season.
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
I dont boy the whole chip on the shoulder talk either. if you cant do well without controversy then more than likely it wont make you better with it IMO. and if it does, how long will that drive keep going?

Re: ESPN Power Rankings
ESPN actually moving the Skins up to 19 was pretty shocking I was expecting something worse knowing them.
I know most of you hate rankings and I also think they are pointless in May but im bored so here ya go.... 1 Steelers - On top until someone knocks them off. 2 Cardinals - I cant wait to see how they mix Chris Wells in with that offense. 3 Patriots - Brady is back and the Pats are recharged for another SB run. 4 Eagles - Alot of talent but will they choke come playoff time yet again? 5 Colts - The Donald Brown & Joseph Addai situation should be fun to watch. 6 Titans - Even with the loss of Haynesworth they still have a very good team. 7 Bears - The one-two punch of Forte and Cutler should lead to more TDs in 2009. 8 Falcons - The addition of Tony G will make Matt Ryan even more dangerous. 9 Saints - Gregg Williams will be the key to how good the Saints will be. 10 Chargers - A team with a ton of talent but can they get to where they need to be? 11 Cowboys - A new running game approach with no TO should lead to a better offense overall in 2009. 12 Ravens - Will be interesting to see how much better Flacco can be with a year under his belt. 13 Redskins - If Campbell and the offense can score 20 ppg they will be tough to beat. 14 Giants - The losses of Ward and Burress dropped the Giants on my rankings. If rookies like Andre Brown and Hakeem Nicks step up they will be alot better than 14. 15 Vikings - I think Sage will put up good numbers but will he get the chance with Brett Favre on the way? Favre in Minny makes the Vikings a top 5 team. 16 Panthers - After Delhomme's terrible playoff game vs the Cards its hard for me to put the Panthers any higher than this. 17 Bills - Could be fun to watch with TO, Evans, Lynch, and rookie Shawn Nelson. 18 Texans - If the Texans can finally get over the hump they could be a playoff team in 2009. 19 49ers - Mike Singletary will continue to improve this team and shape them up to be winners. 20 Seahawks - The Hawks still have pieces but at the sametime too many question marks. 21 Packers - The new 3-4 defense will make it hard for the Packers this year. 22 Dolphins - Their Schedule is tough and teams know all about the Wildcat this year. 23 Jags - Solid team with too many holes. Del Rio is on the hot seat. 24 Bengals - I like the Bengals as a sleeper if the defense plays up to the level that they can. Palmer has to stay healthy. 25 Raiders - Young talent on offense and a very good defense. Probably a year away. 26 Broncos - The offense may actually still be pretty good but the defense is terrible and adjusting to a 3-4. 27 Chiefs - Too many question marks and the loss of Tony G will hurt. 28 Jets - I see the late collapse from 2008 continuing in 2009. 29 Bucs - A team that is a shell of its former self. 30 Browns - Solid draft but this team has alot of problems and a terrible Head Coach. 31 Rams - Lucky to be ranked at 31. 32 Lions - They have to win a game before I can even consider moving them up. |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings
dont get my wrong, i want him to do amazing, but it will be for reasons like having a better offensive line and knowing the system better, not that he has something to prove to vinny and dan.
