Stranger things have happened. :) It would be nice to be back on top again.

I just want us to blow out some teams, even if they suck it still feels good. |

Hell yeah. It's been a long time. |

Would be nice if it panned out that way, but I don't think we are there yet. IMHO we still don't have a bona fide WR corp for JC to throw to.

True that. I like exciting games but at this rate I'm gonna have a heart attack from all these nail biters. |

Pretty weak "comparison" if you ask me.

Re: 1981-82 vs. 2008-09 Redskins, A Comparison
There's some parallels between Campbell and Theismann, but the two teams played in such different eras that any comparison is purely anecdotal. 8-8 meant something totally different in 1981.

Weak is putting it nice. |
Re: 1981-82 vs. 2008-09 Redskins, A Comparison
Nothing more than a neat article to read. Although, how cool would it be if the history actually DID repeat itself here? It's the offseason so we've gotta talk about something right?
HAIL! |
Re: 1981-82 vs. 2008-09 Redskins, A Comparison
The biggest difference is momentum. The 81 team could score and ended the season on a serious roll. Had that team made the playoffs I think they could've made a run. The 89 team was kinda the same way. But the 08 team just couldn't score and sustain drives so to me there really isn't much to compare.

Everyone defines it differently, but assuming it's effect is true, what did the 81 team accomplish at the end of the season that had a tangible value that carried through the labor-strike and into the 82 season?
More specifically, is there anything that Theismann had going for him in June of 1982 that Campbell doesn't have now (outside of job security)? |
Re: 1981-82 vs. 2008-09 Redskins, A Comparison
the comparison is weak but the USAToday article is really well researched and delivered. Props to them, as most stuff about the Skins, via national media, is wrong and terrible.
