Think Positive
Yeah, last night's game left a bitter taste in my mouth too, but there were positives coming out this game. The first half offense for the most part was weak, but appeared to get itself together toward the end of the half, and it played alot better in the second half. I am seeing Brunell getting more confidents in his passes, and hooking up on those deep passes are very very important for not only his confidence, but the receivers. Also, I saw Portis a little more paitent with the counter gap run plays; Clinton is starting to understand how those running plays work and like Bugel said, once the timing is down, it will be one of the most beautiful plays you'll ever see! For the most part, the defense didn't play that badly without Arrington. It continued to be aggressive even though there were some key players out or playing injuried. Lastly, the special teams..mainly the punting team appeared to play very well last night! Special teams can alot of times determine the outcome of a game!
We can harp about Gibbs' foul up with clock management at the end of the game and I am sure he is still kicking himself for it, but I am slowly starting to see things come together and I think we have an opportunity the next several weeks to not only continue with the improvement, but to win some very winnable games. And dont' worry guys! Think how sweet it is going to be when we are improved, and go down to Dallas and whip up on 'em at Texas Stadium! Believe me...you think them 'boys don't know how lucky they were last night?? |
I agree, this team is headed in the right direction.

Time to change your user title Matty

We'll bounce back boys. Two heartbreaking losses can really turn a team around......and it's not like we got blown out!

Skinsguy should get the title "motivational speaker" under his name.
i liked that part about whipping Dallas at home. |
Gotta look at last nights game and think about who has the most room for improvement. It's clearly the Skins. They are just starting to jell. Cowboys have no running game and it's going to be a long season for Testaverde if he has to continue winning all the games with his arm.

tupa is money... too bad he's 38...

I think Tupa's leg is filled with dynamite or something. That guy could have been the MVP of last night. I think he has probably been one of the key players up to this point.

I also think this team is heading in the right direction. Its a tough loss, but we have 13 more games to get over it. I'll be at my local bar at 10am PST ready to cheer us on against the Browns!

Good stuff, skinsguy! And I agree, we gotta stay positive, and stay behind this team!!!
It's hard after so long, and we all remember the glory days with Gibbs, so we just expect, if Gibbs is on the field, we get to go to the superbowl. But it takes hard work and time, as Gibbs has been saying over and over again. If the players and coaches can put in the time and effort (and I do believe this team works HARD) we can bear some difficult games while we get better. |
