Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
Caveman is and always has been one of my favorite players. He's a beast, and is definitely worth more than the $900K we're paying him.

Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
So do I....... believe I'm due for a raise A BIG ONE! I'm a BIG MIKE fan but, your under contract, get to work!

Perhaps, but he's also 34 (35?) and it wouldn't hurt us to start looking for his replacement. I think we should be doing the same for Portis/Betts as well (but that's another story) |
Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
2 years left on his contract. i would extend him for another year. That gives us ample time to groom a backup.

Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
Not sure how much you want to throw at a 34 year old FB, but they should look to throw him some sort of bone.

There is no age limit for pounding on people...just on pounding the rock. He is still a very good Fullback. Besides the last couple of Fullbacks that we drafted, didn't really pan out. Perhaps we should just find some young undrafted kid to do the job when MS can't do it anymore. Or we can just move Yoder to FB. He is only 31. :laughing- |
Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
Lorenzo Neal is old as hell and he's still putting in work.

What about Eddie Williams. Hopefully that will be his replacement. |
Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
Give him something more. He's worth it.

Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
Im a huge fan. I am so glad he made the pro bowl, and he could have gone there the last few years IMO. Throw him a bone.
|
Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
They definitely should give him something, if for no other reason than it likely builds morale when you reward players who outperform their deals and don't hold out.

I agree. He's a longtime Redskin and a core guy. More than that he's a beast out there. He's a vocal leader and he's a team guy. Let's not break the bank but i think an extension would be well deserved. I see both sides to it. On one side you might say, you've signed a contract so play it out. On the other side you might say that these contracts aren't guaranteed and Mike Sellers has outplayed his contract. I can see it from the eyes of the player too. You've got a limited amount of time to make your money...so make it. |
Re: Sellers believes he's due for raise
I think we should base his contract on how high he can jump.

or how many one arm push-ups he can do. |
