shaun suisham may be in trouble

I was at the Scrimmage and one thing I noticed was Rayner looked good kicking the ball. Suisham is in trouble.

Good. This team is done with average players.

So did Durant Brooks.

I'm done with hype. It's high time for production. If he makes the team great but as far as I'm concerned he's a warm body to help Suisham with his competitive focus.

I think your right. Was it me or did that scrimmage lack intensity. And when Orakpo lined up at end in a four point stance, damn can he get off the ball. I was scared for Colt, might get a flashback and forget yellow means dont tackle.

That's good news. Suisham's inaccyuracy last year was insult on injury for our struggling offense. What if he had made 4 or 5 of those missed 40 yarders?

Scintillating discussion in this thread so far. We're comparing the hang time of the new kicker to that of Durant Brooks, a punter.

And thoughtful posts like "this team is done with average players."

WTF

Add something to the board or don't post.

Yeah seriously, so far this thread is in mega fail territory. Let's see if it can recover.

I really thought Rayner was brought in just to give Suisham a little competition and maybe a little push. From what I've read, Rayner was kicking some long FG's before scrimmage and has a pretty good leg. Of course the key here is, "before scrimmage". We'll have to see how he looks during a game in the preseason. Could end up being a pretty good battle but if it's close, I think Suisham gets the job. The coaches seem to agree that part of his problem last year was changing holders so often. That will no longer be a problem with Hunter Smith holding.

Here let me put the nail in the coffin, I don't see how anyone can evaluate the kicking from Sat since the way it reads play by play all the kicks were from the 20 yrd line. I want to see in game kicks where the "intensity" and nerves kick in. Which player will kick better under pressure and from the 40 yrd line and beyond.

Two yrs ago everyone was singing Swishes praise. Last yr with a rookie punter holding the ball he did terrible. To be honest I'd rather see Collins or Colt holding the ball so if there's a problem a pass attempt could be made. Maybe even a trick play, a fake field goal. In any case what is a punter going to do?.....punt for a field goal?

i cant believe , over the years, that the skins cant find an above average kicker. look at some of the scrubs they have trotted out over the last couple of seasons( Suisham included)

they should've cut suisham after he missed that 25 yarder in the playoffs at seattle.

I can't believe the irony in this post.

I suppose you think hangtime has a different definition whether a football is kicked or punted. Both kickers and punter have the ability to have hangtime so I don't see your reasoning. I'm well aware Brooks was a punter and that Rayner is a kicker.

The crux of the matter here is that saying Rayner has hangtime, and believing it, is the same as believing Brooks had great hangtime last year when he consquently got cut from two NFL clubs in one season.

Sometimes mindless people will interject foolish statements with nothing of true substance.

...that's has some irony too I suppose.
