NFLPA director cautions about a lockout

NFLPA advises players about potential 2011 lockout - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

It really sounds as if both sides are doing heavy lobbying. This article is just a 2 sentence piece, but there have been articles recently on retired players benefits, and rookie salary cap, that make it seem like both sides are prepping for a drawn out negotiation.

It's too early to be yelling the sky is falling, but at the same token, I hope both sides are really working toward the same end. Right now, it doesn't seem that way.

The owners and players would be complete fools to allow any kind of work stoppage.

It's going to be ugly. A lot of big issues on the table need to get hammered out.

There is so much at stake here for both sides that both sides are going to posture like heck. A lockout, heaven forbid, could happen. But it is too early in the posturing war to make that call.

Then again, whenever there is a strike, we seem to win the Super Bowl.

I do not believe this will be allowed to happen. The NBA and MLB's image problems have allowed the NFL to become the #1 sport by a huge margin. No one really cares about hockey since their last strike, but they're slowly recovering. I watch hockey again, but am not joined by many people that I know.

It would be a huge blow to the most successful (currently) sports league in the world.
