Billion Dollar Debacle!!!

So Im watching the Cowboy game with some family and Im getting an earfull of how their new stadium is The 8th Wonder of The World and so on. So Joe Buck starts talking about how in pregame the kickers/punters on both sides were hitting the Jumbo Tron. The look on Jerry Jones face freaking priceless. Now this part I beleave Joe said, now dont quote me. Jerry wanted the kickers on both sides to try not to hit it during the game. You know since with all the hype nobody can ruins Jones big debut. I wonder what the league will do? I guess, big isn't always better.

Take for what you will but, woudnt it be funny if they would have to replace it.

Was just watching the game, and the Titans 2nd string Punter hit one off the scoreboard. The outcome......a "do-over".......WTF?????? You have gotta be kidding me!!! Its clearly an incredible stadium, but if this is gonna happen all the time, the NFL really needs to get them to fix this!!!

Jerry Jones is a failure. What an embarrassment.

Ya, and I just saw the titans punter hit it. Something tells me that Goodell will send a letter to Jerry saying that he needs to raise it atleast 15 more yards, because this will be a problem for a lot of punters. This isn't a weather problem, this would go into the category of a fan storming the field type play. The unusual type condition, but fixable is what I'm trying to say. You can't have everything Jerry.

In a side note, I think I've seen everything in this game that you could see. A few one handed catches, a last second (literally), a false start everyone but the center call, helmets flying, and of course balls hitting an overly big TV screen.

This is ridiculous. The punter gets good hangtime and has to do a do-over? How freakin hard could it have been to figure this out after years of planning?

Yea first year major in architicture could have brought that up in the drafting room. I guess JJ sure can pick'em when it comes to construction. (PRACTICE FACILITY)

$1.2 billion to build the stadium and no one considered punters. Brilliant.

The NFL had better force a change with that. To watch do-overs in Dallas again and again would be incredibly lame.

This made my season! The Billion Dollar Debacle is the greatest stadium ever! Nothing epitomizes the current state of the Cowboys any better...

It really couldn't be any better than this!!!

You think if a ball hits it right the screen will go black.

That's what I was laughing about. I tried to look around and find out how much the Jumbo-Tron cost, but it only said Jerry said "40 million. That should explain the ghostly white look on Jerry's face when it got hit. The Cowboys are turning into a reality T.V show.

I dont think the nfl will do anything about it unless it clearly becomes a problem,if its an every game occurence then they would def have to do something, but if its only once or twice a season they'll blow it off.I would think nothing could be done about it for this season, dont know how quickly it could be moved

Why wouldnt they calculate this when they made it? It really doesnt make any sense. What a freaking idiot.

It was actually the first thing I thought when the game started because it seemed too low. But I quickly dismissed the thought because I assumed a billionaire making a huge investment would consider all possible issues, but I guess stupidity does not exclude financially superior.

People who put this stadium together have to be complete idiots to not think of something so obvious as this. I expect the NFL to step in immediately because this is absolutely ridiculous. It was really tragic what happened with the practice field, especially when you have a crooked Texas business men running things who like to cut corners with inspections, permits, and things of that nature.
In all honesty, I thought the new c-girls stadiums was actually really nice, especially the field. I dont know how I feel about that $30 standing room only ticket, I would be pissed if I had to stand the entire time and couldnt really see that well. I guess it brings more of a college or bleachers feel to the game, but kinda of cheapens the place...

the nfl is not stupid,I think they would have signed off on this already.
Ticket buyers know theyre buying a standing room only ticket,so if theyre pissed about it they have no one to blame but themselves.

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.

Apparently they did a test in which McBriar test punted one day. Now there is intensive research! :)

Both Titans punters hit it repeatedly in pregame warmups. It appears that hitting the screen will be commonplace, not an isolated event.

They spent $1.2 bil. on a football stadium where you can't really play football. In some ways it is not a true stadium but a cocktail lounge with a huge dance floor. To this embarrassment I say ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
