Pretty good deal for Seattle. His production is way down but a conditional 7th rounder? Why not take a chance on him.
|
If you need someone to catch 7 yard passes I guess he's your guy.
He's way over the hill. |
the seahawks and the titans have WR that drop soo many passes its a joke... rice ain't a burner, but i bet he can still hold on to the damn thing. good deal for the seahawks... the raiders didn't want him, he was given away.
|
seahawks might lose koren robinson too due to suspension, and engram is hurt, so he will get a lot of a passes thrown his way i think
|
True, with Robinson and Engram out he'll get playing time. A 7th round pick is worth the chance and he knows Holmgren's West Coast offense like the back of his hand. It's the offense that made him the greatest receiver ever, not Norv's vertical passing game.
Plus, I just picked him up in our $$ league so dude better put up some numbers now |
This is a good pick up for Seattle with the injuries and the looming suspension of Robinson. Rice is a veteran and he can add some experience to that team.

Rice is the epitomy of a hard worker. I think he just has the ability to make people better by being around him, because the guy works so hard that guys just wanna do the same. His hands are basically made out of glue and with all the WR's dropping balls out there I think it's important to have a guy like Jerry Rice showing them the ropes.
The Seahawks have some talented wideouts, who knows...with Rice's help maybe one of them will turn out to be the next JR |

He was one of the best WRs ever, but sometimes you just gotta realize that skills diminish with age. JR today is not anywhere near JR of 3-5 years ago. I DO think he will help out with the Seattle WRs though. Just his presence is enough to make people play better. I know I could run a little faster, have stickier hands, and block better if he was watching. :D |
I think Rice should have asked for a number other than 80. A Seahawks 80 jersey should belong only to Steve Largent. He's the most famous Seahawk of all time, possibly the most famous pro athlete of any of Seattle's teams
