Climategate
I think we all know that most rational people agree Global Warming is at best a scheme Al Gore has created to achieve notoriety (seeing failed presidential bid, and claim to have created the internet), but for obvious fraud to have occurred and major news networks to not report it is ridiculous:
"An examination of morning and evening news programs on ABC, CBS and NBC since Nov. 20 yielded zero mentions of the scandal, even in the Nov. 25 reports about Obama going to Copenhagen to discuss the need for emissions reductions," the Institute reported Wednesday. But during that time, the Institute says, "the networks reported on pro-golfer Tiger Woods' 'minor' car accident at least 37 times. They also found time to report on an orphaned Moose and the meal selection at the president’s State Dinner." Media Research Center President Brent Bozell reacted to the findings saying, "To pretend this story simply doesn’t exist is damning to journalism." Comedy Central Scoops Network News on Climate-Gate Scandal - Science News | Science & Technology | Technology News - FOXNews.com Obama science advisers grilled over hacked e-mails - Yahoo! Re: Climategate
Or how about a week or so ago when Al was asked questions about the 9 errors found in his flim he refused to remove:
When asked by McAleer whether he would do anything to correct the errors found by the British court, Gore said he wouldn't go through each of the errors but added that the ruling was in favor of screening the film in schools. "There's been such a long discussion of each one of those specific things," he said. "One of them for example was that polar bears really aren't endangered. Well polar bears didn't get that word." The audience laughed. Phelim countered that the number of polar bears has increased and is increasing. "You don't think they're endangered?" Gore asked. "The number has increased," McAleer repeated, prompting the same question from Gore. "If the number of polar bears has increased, surely they're not in danger." Before McAleer could say anything else, he was interrupted by environmental journalists who said it wasn't a debate and shut off his microphone. FOXNews.com - New Documentary Challenges Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth' on Global Warming |
Re: Climategate
You said Al Gore pushed globle warming to achieve notoriety and I say that maybe 1% of it and the other 99% was to make a millions of dollars. It does not surprise me the media has not covered this at all.

Re: Climategate
So is the intent of this thread to somehow discredit Al Gore and Democrats on this issue, and more broadly global warming? Or is the intent to actually discuss the scientific facts supporting both sides of the argument. Because there are facts on both sides. I'm just curious.
For the record, I'm not interested in joining the debate I just want to boost my post count:) |

My quesition is why is this not being reported? I think discrediting Al Gore and taking shots at him is fair game as he is a public figure and puts himself at the head the Global Warming inuitive. There are plently of Republicans that believe in Global Warming. For the record i am neither a Republican nor a Democrat (And have a zero vote track record on all non-sga elections); however, i do not believe in man caused global warming. |

For NBC, the hacked email info came out during their much publicized "Green Week", so i am guessing they had conflicts of interest with reporting it. It would have been bad for business. I dont know why ABC or CBS has not. Obviously someone said No, lets go with the Tiger story again tonight... |

I honestly dont think money is the driving force behind Gore. He married rich, he has everything he could want except the spot light. Ive always wondered why a rich person would want to enter politics and expose themselves to constant public scrutiny and lose their privacy. It's not widely reported because it's boring.

I dont know how boring it could be compared to the rest of the monotonous crap you see on MSNBC, ABC and CNN from 5-8pm. Fox News channel decided to report it and they are the dominate News provided for the age 25-54 demographic. If they can vastly beat out the competition by reporting these issues I don’t get why other networks cant follow suite. Just seems like poor journalism to me. |

Making any kind of assumptions based on one, two, or even ten years is ridiculous, especially in a specific region. I always find it absurd when it's a particularly cold winter and people are like, "oh ... so much for global warming." The real things to study are average global temperature and concentration of certain gasses within the entire global climate. Problem is these things are extremely difficult to reach conclusive evidence on, and doing so is theoretical at best. It's kind of a shame that much of the science community has become so politicized because it's killed much of the credibility of the overall scientific community.
