Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo

What do you guys think, is this as good of a deal as it looks? Seems like it's a better deal on the lower end, since you're basically getting a PS3 for free compared to Newegg/Tigerdirect prices. |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
If you're sold on Sony's XBR line of TVs, then I think it's good.
Personally, I don't think the jump in price from a comparable Samsung is worth it. The PS3 dropped down to 299, so if that's the kicker- see if you'd save more elsewhere. |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
I wouldn't buy anything from that crap as of a store. They suck and don't even think about any customer service after the sale if you don't buy it first in what they call an extended waranty. If you don't buy the warranty your screwed if something happens because you have to buy customer service from them. Sears has good sales and if you have problems they stand behind their products no matter what.

Totally agree 100%. I buy all my electrionics at Sears, I have not been in a Best buy in over a year. They are just plain horrible. |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
I've never had a problem at BB. I tend to go elsewhere only because I find their prices to be high.
That does seem to be a good deal on that bundle though. |

I normally buy solely from Sears, but I thought this looked like a decent bargain. I'm going to go into the store and check out some of the tv's included... |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
If you take this deal to Sears they will match it. I rather have this deal at Sears and know I will have good customer service.
BTW at Sears you can purchase the extended warrenty and after one year canceal and get your money back. You may say what is the big deal with that, well it allows you to return the TV to Sears and not deal with the manufactor. Basically you are extending the 30 day return policy by 364 days. |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
Funny my mother sent me this email today about Sears and how they treat their employee's in the service. Not sure if its true but if it is here is another reason to buy from Sears.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEARS - Christmas shopping has already started I know I needed this reminder since Sears isn't always my first choice. Amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and they haven't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year? How does Sears treat its employees who are called up for military duty? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up. Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves. Pass it on. Decided to check this before I sent it forward. So I sent the following e-mail to the Sears Customer Service Department: I received this e-mail and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your company. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item, even if it's cheaper at that store. This is their answer to my e-mail: Dear Customer: Thank you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time. Bill Thorn |

Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
What is sad is if you work at Sears and you make more money than a U.S. servicemember.

Its a program for called up reservist and I'm not sure how they get paid when called up to active duty. |

They get paid the same as Active Duty when they get activated. |

You know how it is man, if you're E1, E2, E3, you're making shit money. Not sure if they base this off of salary including or excluding all of the allowances that don't get taxed. Plus the special combat/hazardous duty pays... they may not factor that into the equation. |
Re: Best Buy Sony HDTV & PS3 Combo
unless the pay sscale has changed in the past few years a 11 month deployment to iraq will land an e4 around $25-$30k, that includes combat/living/tax free
