Trouble in Viking land?
Favre is at it again, in a different way.

re: Trouble in Viking land?
I watched all of that game. Minn. really didn't look like a contender, and that's the 2nd time in a few weeks that on a sunday night they got whooped. I don't know if it's just a slip or they are wearing down late in the season, just like their qb has the past few years.
Carolina might've been in the playoff race if Moore started since day 1. |
re: Trouble in Viking land?
Chilly probably wanted to pull him because he was getting killed out there. The whole team should have been pulled the way they were playing. They've lost two of their last three games and may be coming back down to earth. It's difficult to maintain that high level of play for sixteen weeks, Favre is 40 and end of seasons have been problematic for him the last few years.

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
Favre is in his usual late-season decline and is acting once again in a me-first way. No surprises here.

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
It is a very long season. This does not mean much. At 11-3 it is better the peak in January then peaking too early.
It is good they are getting tested and that teams are beating them. It makes them play harder. No false sense greatness. It would worry me more if my team got their asses handed to them and there was no heated words. At least this shows they really care and want to win. |
Re: Trouble in Viking land?
He will choke in the playoffs and then say he will retire for the 20th time, blah, blah, blah.

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
Much ado about nothing in my opinion. I can understand both sides. Childress sees his offensive line getting killed, doesn't want Favre to get hurt and is looking to shake things up.
On the other hand, the team was up 7-6 and the reason you went after Favre (who granted wanted to be in Minny) was to elevate this team in December and beyond. They can go 10-6 with TJ. But with a win on Sunday night they would have been closing in on home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Not many QBs are going to willingly get benched |
Re: Trouble in Viking land?
I don't see it as a big issue.

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
Sooooo, I guess coach has to take "my way or the highway" out of his playbook?

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
Typical Farve acting like the baby he is. Whether you like it or not the coach is your boss. Respect authority and if you don't like it then tell him the next day.

Re: Trouble in Viking land?
It would have been a dumb move to pull Favre out while the team was still winning, even 7-6. That doesn't send a good message to the rest of the team. Sure Favre was struggling, but the team was winning the game...would you really want to turn the offense over to Sage or T-Jack and expect them to manage a 7-6 lead???
It would be different if he was being crushed 24-7....Favre was having the life beat out of him but the team was still winning the game....Now i know they did get crushed in the 4th quarter, but at the time Childress wanted to pull Brett, the team was still winning the game... |
