Looks like the jets are willing to trade Kerry Rhodes , apparently Ryan wants a more agrresive safety... Well how bout landry for Rhodes? Could we do it and would you do? Re: Landry for Rhodes?
I'd do that in a heartbeat. I could see why that would be appealing to the Jets, but we would be ripping them the heck off.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
I like Landry (unlike a lot here), I think he will do much better next year, and has the potential to be one of the best. Just like how we were ready to write carlos rogers off, then he "got it", I think Landry falls under this catagory. That being said, I would agree with gtripp, I'd do it too. But I certainly would not be upset by keeping Landry.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Shoot, we could use all those guys.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Ah, no. Let's see, LL is 2 years younger, faster, and can be trained to do better than he has last year. Sorry, I would rather keep a fixable LL than trade him.

I agree despite his problems they are fixable. |

But he was horrible, then went to better than average. The point isn't that Rogers became a stud, just that it took him a little time to "get it". Landry is about to "get it" IMO. |

I would do it on a new York minute, He may be younger but I saw Jason Witten leave Landry in the dust, so faster, I would disagree |
Re: Landry for Rhodes?
I hate maddenesque trade ideas.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Only if the Jets throw in Leon Washington in addition.

I tend to agree. I am done with Landry's neanderthal approach to the position. |
Re: Landry for Rhodes?
No way!!! IMO Landry has not reached his top as a player and can be better in the right defense. I would like to see how he does in the new system and hopefully in the right position (strong safety).
I would like for us to sign Anthony Bethea or Ryan Clark, if either of the two hit the free agent market. Until Laron plays SS, the position for which he was drafted it is not smart to trade him. It's like the example of Antrel Rolle for the Cardinals, not until he was switched to FS did he start to make an impact. He was a bust at CB, star at safety. |
Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Why bother with a trade? There is a strong chance that the Jets will cut Rhodes. Then we could sign him, if we wanted, and not give up anything.
