Happy St. Patty's
Anyone drunk yet? :)
I remember back in my college days I was blasted by this time of the day. Kinda glad those days are over! |
Re: Happy St. Patty's
I'll begin drinking at lunch. My coworker and I have a tradition of starting to drink at lunch and then coming back to our offices and playing darts until the rest of the day is out.

Happy St. Patty's!
I have a lot of Irish in me. I'm looking forward to that Guinness later on. |
Anyone else actually Irish? :D
My dad is one of 13 kids and they're all named after saints. Also, my middle name is Patrick.
Also, I just learned last Xmas that when my great-great grandfather moved to DC from Ireland he eventually opened a big Irish pub. From the old pictures my aunt had it looked to be about 5 blocks away from the Capital. Unfortunately at some point the bar was taken over by his second wife's family and it eventually closed. I can only dream of how cool it would have been if it had stayed open... |

Re: Happy St. Patty's
I'm not Irish, and I've always thought St. Patty's day was kind of silly. I don't need an excuse to drink. :)

irish girls :)
Sadly most don't look like this. I grew up in Newport RI and every year a huge influx of Irish girls woudl come to work for the summer and they were all 5 or 6 on the 10 scale. Ireland is know for beer not women. |
Re: Happy St. Patty's
Everyone's Irish today ;) I think there is some on my Dad's Mom's side...
I've got a 4 pack of Guinness cans at home and corned beef sandwiches for dinner. While out at lunch today, thought about hitting one of the 3 Irish Pubs within 2 blocks of each other in downtown Frederick, but I didn't want to get sucked in as I have 2 meetings this afternoon. |
Re: Happy St. Patty's
I'm a large percentage Irish and my wife is Itallian, but she will have a lot of Irish in her tonight.

Yup. And their food is lousy as well. Beautiful country. Mediocre beer, women, and food. I do enjoy a shot of Jameson every now and then, and Smithwicks is pretty tasty. |

So I hear. At least there are gorgeous countries that have the women, beer, and food as well. Now me getting the chance to travel there is another thing. I'd love to hit up parts of South America sometime, know nothing of the beer but 3/4 isn't bad right? |
Re: Happy St. Patty's
C'mon now... Ireland gave us the king of all beers, Guinness

My irish Grandfather always says that today and New Years Eve are for amateurs, the real drinkers are partying all year. I'll drink to that. |

No doubt. As far as bars/social life, St. Patty's day is just like New Year's Eve- amateur hour for sure. A wise man that grandfather of yours. |

My grandfather lived by that. I take after him a bit. The drinking, not as much, aside from a really rough patch a week or so ago. As a matter of fact, when my mother called to let my grandfather know that I was born.. he asked the date.. she said the 5th He said, and I quote "The fifth? I'll drink to that." I have no doubt that he did. |

According to some probably I'm sure... Guinness is a thing of beauty, not even up for debate |
Re: Happy St. Patty's
Somebody at work told me that a true Irish man takes off from workon St. Patricks Day. I told him that a true Irish man takes off the day after St. Patricks Day.
