Speaking of our receivers -- we had 3 of the top 10 YAC/Reception guys in the league

minimum number of catches of anyone in the list is 20

Davis and Cooley were also in top 10 for TEs, the leading guy only had 5 receptions though

an efficient offense could really keep those chains moving

Probably due to the short passing game I imagine. The WCO is designed for that. If we could protect the QB and run the ball/throw deep, we could really do some damage.

Nice stat but I wonder if its partly because a lot of teams were playing the prevent defense against us a lot of those games. The same reason Campbell's stats are always talked about. His "average" QB stat rankings are for a large part "garbage time stats". Teams will often give you those five yard dumps. Often they were even willing to give you the one to nine yards after the catch. Cooley was probably responsible for most of the earned yac.

Yeah, that helps but there were plenty of other teams doing it too. Kelly's was skewed a bit due to that 80-some yard run and only 25 catches or so, but it does show that Moss still has some to offer. I think that we'll be fine at receiver, I don't think that we should really give anything up to go after a guy like Marshall.

Thats because JC dumped off the ball so much if we wanted any yards at all they had to come after the catch. LOL

True but we did have some good moves too. Screens and dump offs can get blown up too.
