Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
I did not know he was a singer and had his own show. I guess that because his fame turn to meats in the 60's when I was born.

Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
RIP Jimmy but you have put plenty of others in a early grave with your sausage.

Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
Some are referring to him as the "sausage king"
Since when did he take that title from Abe Froman? |

Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
Anybody else notice that the town Jimmy Dean died in was Varina, Virginia, home of Trample the Elderly?? Aside from TTE and Dean, I've never heard of that town in my life. Is it possible TTE trampled Jimmy?

Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
I'm not sure if I was a guy I would want to be called sausage king. Think of the funny looks you would get when your at the beach if your friend yells "sausage king you better slow down on those beers you know what happened last night". Talking about you passing out.

Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
I'll be eating some sausage (Italian - off my grill) for lunch in remembrance.

The link I posted to his wiki page said he died in Varina. |
Re: RIP Jimmy Dean
I always knew him as a singer and sometimes actor. His song IOU is a Mother's Day classic. Big Bad John is another of his best.
He sold his stake in the sausage business many years ago - but they kept using his name in the packaging. RIP |
