Probably going to have to be draft pick compensation.

This move makes our line a lot better for 2010, and in theory, we'll come to a long term agreement with our RT of the future, and have our OT tandem of the next three or four seasons. Still, draft pick compensation is probably going to be fairly significant. I'd imagine it includes our second rounder, since we don't know if we will have either our third or fourth next year.

On second thought, I think it would have been out of character for BA to pull the trigger on this if it was going to cost a 2nd rounder in next year's draft. Maybe a 2nd in 2012 and a 5th in 2011?

Gonna be interesting to see what the compensation is.

Wow. Okay so starting 5:

LT T. Williams
LG D. Dockery
C Rabach
RG M. Williams
RT J Brown

A Hicks off the bench. I can live with that.

Right now I'm hearing it's for a conditional 4th, but still not sure

A conditional 4th??? Oh that would be sweet!! I'd take that deal in second.

Especially if it was that 4th we got in 2012 for JC. That'd basically be like giving away JC for Jammal Brown. I'd love that deal, even though I kinda feel that Jammal Brown is injury prone.

If Williams is the LT of the future, he shouldn't have to wait to take over at LT until year 3 or whatever.

If he's not the LT of the future, we're going to need someone better than Jamaal Brown anyway to handle the position.

So after they fidget around for a bit, I hope the final product looks like your line above, hopefull with Rinehart winning the job over BMW.

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown

Brown is 29, for those wondering -- same age as Haynesworth. This seems like a 3 or 4 year move.

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown

So, would he play LT to start with Williams on the right? Or would Brown start out on the right? If he starts out on the right, how long would Williams stay there? I thought he was drafted with the intent of being a left tackle.

What's J.Brown's contract status?

Yes!!! Our offense will be a threat for the first time in years!

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown

Boy 29 sure is old for a player who's been in the league 5 years. This definitely isn't a long term move for sure, probably 3-5 years at best.
