The new and improved Haynesworth thread
Now that he's in town and ready to start camp (pending a physical), I thought it's time we can start up a new and improved Haynesworth thread. Here's to hoping this one is full of more positive things like this:
Redskins Insider - Haynesworth meets with Shanahan, Haslett Redskins Insider - Haynesworth tells Redskins he won't be a distraction |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
We only can wait and see what happens.. Well, and talk about this..

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
pending a conditioning test as well right? something tells me he'll pass, I mean Shanny was even willing to say that he looked in shape when asked
now let's see what they do with him... with maake recovering do they throw him in heavy at the nose? or do they appease him a bit and split it up with Green, Bryant, etc starting at nose? |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
Lets not get too excited just yet. From most recent RI article you linked:
Shanahan, asked Wednesday about his conversation with Haynesworth, said it "went well." He said of Haynesworth: "He's here, he's ready to go." But when asked whether Haynesworth will be a Redskin this season, he said: "We'll see."
Up until now, Shanahan has said unconditionally that Haynesworth would be a Redskin. Now that Haynesworth is finally showing up and trying to be a good soldier, Shanahan is uncertain whether Haynesworth will be a part of the team. If we look at everything from the past couple days except Shanahahan's comment, everything seems hunkydory. however, that comment opens the possibility that all the "positive" things we are seeing from Haynesworth could merely be a charade orchestrated between the Redskins and Haynesworth to make Haynesworth more attractive to other teams. If he's no longer concieved as a malcontent, he'd certainly have more value. |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
lol, apparently now he is a 'happy camper'. What a joke, this guys is such a consummate idiot it's incredible. He pouted, then realized that everyone was against him and suddenly did an about-face and showed up to camp. Pathetic.

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
He's going to start with the 2nd team defense. That's understandable though since he'll actually have to learn a lot of this stuff for the first time.

I don't think a trade is happening this late in the game. Acting nice at this point isn't going to bump his trade value. Everyone around the league already knows his story. |

I mean you always listen to trade offers for the most part, so I'd never throw that out of the window. |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
I just want to see AH playing as much DE as possible.
That is going to be a friggin nightmare dealing with him out wide in the 3-4 sets. |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
This whole Haynesworth saga has drawn far more attention than was ever neccessary from the beginning. The guy didn't kiss-up, he stood-up for what he felt was his right. His decision may not have been a popular one, but it was his to make.
Now that he's reported and appearently in shape and ready (I hope to play) the vibe is beginning to take on the tone I fugured it would once he showed up. I hope he has a great season, especially after being drug through that media mud. I want to be a witness to what all the critics have to say then. |

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
I think Feignsworth is owning up simply because the NFLPA advised him to. Perhaps later he will actually fall in love with the 3-4, but now, I don't think he's 100% sincere.

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
how is he new and improved? have we played a game yet?? he lost some weight. big deal. play more than two plays in a row w/out rolling around on the ground like a fish out of water and then come talk to me.
