From NFL.com, Troy Aikman discussing Gregg Williams
Gregg Williams did an outstanding job as defensive coordinator in Tennessee before going to Buffalo as head coach of the Bills. Now, in Washington as defensive coordinator, he's done a heck of a job. Those guys play hard -- and that's not easy to do when you're talking about a team that has struggled like the Redskins have on the offensive side of the ball and lost games. Brett Favre, who faced the Redskins three weeks ago, said he thought it was the best defense he's played all season. Williams deserves most, if not all, of the credit for how that defense is playing. I don't see him being in Washington for very long. He'll be a head coach again real soon. From Redskins.com, An Interview with Andy Reid On what attributes are different and how much of a difference for the Eagles' defense it will be going against quarterback Patrick Ramsey instead Mark Brunell: "The initial thought is that one is right handed and one is left handed. You have to take into consideration what their best roll move is and so on. We have a lot of respect for Ramsey because of the things he did against us last year. We know what he is all about. I knew a little bit about Mark (Brunell) too. He is a great player too. But the players here are probably a little more familiar with Ramsey than Mark." On what he remembers of Ramsey from last season's game:"He is a tough kid. He hung in the pocket and he made plays. He made plays with people in his face and he never shied away from it. He brought them back and I thought he did a great job." |
Willams said that he will be here as or defensive coordinator as long as Gibbs is here. Williams might be our head coach when Joe leaves. But I don't see him jumping ship in the next few years. I don't think Farve knows what he's talking about. :nono: It's nice to hear that he thinks our D is the best he has faced though. :D

As I pointed out in a post in another thread, Williams is making more as a DC with the Redskins than at least 3 head coaches in the NFL right now. He was making $1M per year as HC in Buffalo; they fired him and he came here for $1,8M as DC with incentive clauses. That's right, he took a "demotion; and got an 80% salary increase. Don't you wish you could get that to happen in your job?
If Williams leaves DC, it will NOT be for money. If he leaves the Redskins for another job, there will be "other reasons"... You won't read about them because they will be hidden under the blanket of something like "wanting to spend more time with his family" or some other pabulum statement that never means what it says. |
:smashfrea Aikman is a retard , I have to mute the game if he is in the booth calling it.
He hates the Redskins becouse hes a cowboy and Lavar ended his career. If only he could end his broadcasting career too. |

Agreed I think he does a tremendous job in the booth, now Daryl moose Johnston is another story that is 1 cowboy who irritates me. |
he does do a great job in the booth but his face makes me think he had a stroke or something. the way on side kind of hangs there.
|
I'm shocked how much credit Aikman gives the skins when most people won't. Aikman's a nice guy, but he is still a Cowboy!
|
I really like Aikman in the booth, he's never struck me as having any sort of bias towards the Redskins at all.
|
I agree. I'd rather listen to Aikman's analysis over some twit like Bradshaw or Pee-on Sanders (when he was in the booth)
|
Bradshaw is funny and knows a thing or two about QBing.
|
Aikman is very good in the booth....Thanks Lavar! He actually seems to be biased towards, not against the Skins like you would think he would be. Actually I think he is more of just a "NFC East" guy. I think Johnston does alright, but the absolute WORST ex-Cowboy in broadcasting is Irvin...I cannot watch the ESPN pre-game because of him.
Bradshaw WAS a great QB....Now he still has some knowledge, but he's mainly just comedic relief... |

They need to get rid of Irvin as he brings nothing to the brodcast other then his big mouth. Can't wait till they put him on the sidelines at a Philly game, maybe they will stuff a Rat in his mouth. |

Gotta agree on Irvin, I still watch ESPN but when Irvin talks I tune him out. I really wish they still had Sterling Sharpe. |
