Snow, Heat, and Earl????? I was looking at the tracking, and wondered if Hurricane Earl was going to be the next weather related story of 2010. We've had snow galore, heat in June, and now this guy looks mighty fierce: Are any of you richmond/va/OBX (lol) guys hearing any rumblings about how Earl might affect you? |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? That is an awesome photograph. The Earth is so beautiful. |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? I know my sister is about to start freaking out. Her wedding is on Saturday right on the Chesapeake. I'm sure we'll be okay but its got to be making her nervous. Anyway, good luck to those right on the coast this week! |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? Hmmmmmm, my sister-in-law on Long Island was talking about coming here to PA because Hurricane Earl is heading there. Hopefully it's just a fire drill and the thing stays off shore. |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? I usually bounce between NWS and this site: HAMweather - Bringing Weather to Your Web for my weather info. Here is their graphics and info on Earl: HAMweather Tropical Center: Hurricane Earl Track From the models, it's safe to say Earl will nip the Outer Banks before heading northeast, and those between Virginia Beach and Cape Cod will get some heavy winds and rain at some point between Thursday and Sunday. There were earlier models tracking Earl to run over the Delmarva Peninsula and pick up moisture from the Chesapeake, which would have been very messy. |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? BreakingNews Weather Service issues hurricane warning for N.C. coast; hurricane watch extended to Delaware as Earl approaches Hurricane EARL Public Advisory 4 minutes ago via breakingnews.com |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl?????
Not sure if that breaking news as I heard NC and VA both are under a warning. The entire coast from NC on up will be under a warning before the end of the day.
BreakingNews is the tweeter service that I follow. They send out news updates pretty quickly but I am sure if you are right there you here it a lot faster. |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl????? Oh TWC? They'll blame it all on global warming soon enough. |
Re: Snow, Heat, and Earl?????
This morning I had to go by a customers office and he is located just off the main road into NC and Nag Head. The road leaving was packed and will only get worse as the day goes on. There is really only one road in and one road out. My wife is lucky she came home yesterday before they call for everyone to leave.
My father went down yesterday to tie up everything (grill, pic nic table, kayake,). We are in Rodanthe, and he said to the traffic going leaving was bumper to bumper leaving...he cut through NC and came up 95 instead of 168. Folks down there I think are going have a time with this one. The surf last weekend was almost to the main dune on beach already... |
