Ryan Torain

It's official, he has arrived. Love the physical running style. If he cuts down on the fumbles is the RB job his to lose? Is he the RB of the future? I still love Portis just not sure he's going to seem that many touches if Torain keeps playing like this.

I still think it is too early to say rb of the future. Still in wait and see mode. But I am VERY happy with how he has done so far. We just need the O-line to help him out a little more.

I don't know if he's the running back of the future, but he's the running back for the right now and I would say next year. If ATV hangs a hundy on the Lions, Portis won't be the starter for the rest the season.

Who knows about the future but he's definitely the RB for right now. Even if Portis makes it back this year he should be the 3rd down back only. Torain is a tough runner, a bit too upright at times though, definitely needs to work on holding on to the ball. He's young and should only get better with experience, there's a lot to like so far.

Love the running style. You have to be impressed with the way he breaks tackles. Way too early to say he is the future and I think we need another option with some speed and pass catching ability out of the backfield. But I would like Torrain in the mix no doubt, he has been a great addition.

No, he's not THE rb of the future, but can be one of them. He's got his strengths, but also leaves some yards out there, he isn't good in space & doesn't have breakaway speed. I think rb is still a position of need for next year's draft.

Not to dis the guy, he's hard to bring down & runs hard. Plus his protection in the pass game has improved.

I think its his job to lose. CP is out maybe for the season, and probably as a redskin, so whoever is brought in next year will likely compete with Torain.

Way too early. Love the way the kid runs. His running style reminds me of Eddie George. But he's taking some monster shots and needs to hold on to the damn ball. We still need CP out there.

He's exceeded even my expectations, and I was pushing for him as hard any anyone here since last March. He still needs to show more consistency in pass protection, though I love how much he's improved in that area. Would like to see him be more reliable as a receiver as well.

I love this kid!
needs to hold on to the ball, but this guy is a freakin' beast!

I believe the Bears were #3 in rush Defense, weren't they?
This guy is a keeper...

We do need to find us a fast, quick, home run hitter to compliment his bruising style though...

Maybe shanny can find someone in the later rounds next year for that?

Look, we can nitpick all we want but this kid is a breath of fresh air and he'll get better. I hope he ends the season healthy, gets another full training camp under his belt, tweek his game a little, and come out blazing next year.

Anytime he can put up those numbers on Chicago, there's nothing to complain about.

Re: Ryan Torain

He reminds me of Stephen Davis. Maybe not as fast, but physically in uniform he looks like him. Anyone else feel this way?

MTK 10-25-2010 10:42 AM

Re: Ryan Torain

Davis was more compact plus he had breakaway speed in the open field. Torain is lankier than Davis was. I think Eddie George is a good comparison that someone already brought up.

Great development for us this year, but before we anoint him the next Clinton Portis (be honest, he was one of the best RBs in the NFL and consistent for us for many years, close to breaking Riggins' career record)...lets see him make it through a whole season first. His health history hasn't been great.

While he's on the field...great to watch.

Love watching the chaos he creates when he gets into the secondary, not many DBs are going to bring him down without some serious help. As for the future rb I dont think we have enough evidence yet to make a decision.
