I think that while that was a terrible decision to throw that pass, Ramsey has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of his ability to run an offense.

I can't get to the article because I don't want to fill out that crap for the washington post, but I definitly think we're making progress. The biggest difference I have seen this season is heart and the desire to win games...not just go, play, and go home. We're going to be alright next year if Snyder doesn't go and gut our team again. It scared me to see him storming around up in his box during the game because the man clearly doesn't know football as well as even any of us do. Ramsey played great, we just need a better line. Ray Brown is too old to be starting. Once Jansen is back, maybe we can pick up some good free agents, or get someone in the draft, maybe Elton Brown. Its probably been said, but we all remember Rypen, Williams, and Thiesman, and we should all remember that none were superstars. They just had all day to throw. If we can keep the team together, we'll be pretty good next year.

Thanks...good article, and like I said, there was a lot more heart. Has anyone else noticed that this season? They don't just pack it in anymore.
|
I really noticed their heart last week, guys were flying around hittin and smacking each other, you had Taylor talking smack to Owens, Coles getting pumped up and in people's faces, etc.
At least they didn't roll over like they have in previous years. The team has a lot of fight. |
As hard as some of the fans on this board are coming down on the Redskins right now, by season's end, I betcha they'll be looking back at this game and praising them for their efforts, including Patrick Ramsey. I'm seeing all these threads that appear to me to suggest that being optimistic isn't being realistic. To be realistic, I could almost bet you my life savings (of course it's not much right now), that if Patrick Ramsey had some how gotten that pass completed to Cooley in the end zone instead of throwing the pick, then we would probably be hearing about how Ramsey is once again the next Bret Farve and we would probably hear about how gutsy the play call was to throw it in the end zone and how Gibbs had the confidence in his team to go for the win. Of course, it didn't happen and Patrick Ramsey and Joe Gibbs should be banished to purgatory for the rest of their lives. I don't get it! We played the best team in the NFC, possibly the best team in the NFL extremely close and came close to coming back and beating them. I think that shows that this team has made some progress. I don't think this team lost any confidence..as a matter of fact, I think now they might have earned some respect...at least with the Eagles. This team right now can easily finish the season at 7-9 if they play as hard as they did against the Eagles. 7-9 would be better than last year and it would help us to end the season on a positive note that would carry into next season.
|
yeh 7-9 with no real blowout losses. reading that article just makes me wish that brunell had been benched even 2 games earlier. what we're seeing now is progress by the coaches, players, and the lot of em mixed together.
and for the eagles game, and im not tryin to be the what-if guy, but cooley is inches away from an incredibly awesome play earlier in the game for a TD instead of a missed FG AND that bs pass int. call which is whatever. they just give some of those to TO. we definitely had that junk. next yr. we KILL!!! go skins! |
