So, they do not want to admit they are wrong so they refuse to change a rule that is obviously wrong? That was 5 times worse than the Tuck Rule if you ask me.

I saw that game.
He made the catch and had possession but he used the ball to get up from the ground with. If he would have just sat there a couple more seconds he would have been fine. These guys need to be trained to hold on to the ball in the end zone so the refs can be sure its a TD. |

Pretty much what I gather from it. You'd think David Stern was running the officiating rules. |
Re: There will not be a "Calvin Johnson rule" next year
I can understand why, if you make an exception for that one catch, then coaches will start challenging more often. More plays will become questionable and it will be counter productive to the rule of maintaining possession through the ground.
It sucks for Calvin Johnson, but the rule is the rule and it is there for a reason. If Megatron didn't let the ball come out of his hands then it would have never been questioned. |

the Lions will make the playoffs in 2011, take it to the bank

I think more than anything the NFL is trying to keep officials from making subjective calls as much as possible.

Their glass shouldered quarterback would need to actually be upright for that to happen. |

Detroit's O-Line sucks and they are talking about drafting defense this year. Stafford may have to learn to throw with both arms. The Lions are in a tough division, they're not doing squat next year. |
