Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

"Pop Jenkins, a guy who wants to be in Washington, into Haynesworth’s place, and the Redskins might be able to solve a big problem". What do you all think? |
I like the premise. Of course, 31 year old off injury begs a bit of a question but the article makes good points.

He's old and coming off a big injury.....
What makes him any different than Kemo? |

I think repeating the same thing over and over again expecting different results is insanity.
and a 31-year-old coming off another major injury
Sound familiar?
The 31-year-old Kemoeatu signed a two-year, $7 million deal with the Redskins. When Kemoeatu’s visit with the Redskins was first reported, it didn’t look like a signing was close because Kemoeatu isn’t close to being completely recovered from the torn Achilles’ tendon that cost him the entire 2009 season. But apparently the Redskins are satisfied that Kemoeatu is on the road to recovery. Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
Both are 31 years old when available for free agency. Both played in Carolina at some point. Both are Nose Tackles. Both are coming off big injuries during their respective free agent years.
This is deja vu. Still as far as Jenkins is concerned, well simply put he's like a Ferrari with a 150,000 miles. |
Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
Stud if he's healthy, but coming off back to back ACL tears? Yikes.
I would consider him for part of a rotation, but I wouldn't bring him in expecting him to be the main guy at the nose. Kemo's situation was a bit different, an Achilles injury is tougher to come back from. |
Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
Please no more old asses

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
I really like Jenkins but he is just too beaten up to be a serious factor.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
For the veteran minimum. The guy is a health liability, always hurt.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
I've had the chance to meet Jenkins a couple of times this year and I think he's a really nice guy...but I don't want him on the team. He's on the wrong side of 30, he's not healthy, he doesn't care for the Redskins (something from his youth I guess). The last piece I honestly don't think is a huge deal but the first two are deal breakers for me

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
Would've been a nice fit a few years ago when he was leaving Carolina but he's of no use to a team that's rebuilding.
|
Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
If Kris Jenkins didn't tear his ACL every year, then ya i'd take him.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
Kris Jenkins has had 2 major injuries in 2 years!
not sure about this one boys! |

I hear everything everyone is saying but look at his leadership and experience compare to the nightmare Hayensworth has been and disruption to the team he will continue to be........ |
Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?
He was a very good player. I'd like to stop signing guys with the WAS and start signing guys with the IS. :cool-smil
