Re: Dalton called a 4th round talent, yet could go 8th overall
This is the type of stuff I find so intriguing. It makes me wonder how two parties could have such varying opinions on a player.
I mean if a player looks on film to be a fourth round talent then I'm sure no number of "intangibles" you believe he has could bump him to the first round. |

I'm not an Insider.
Anyone know where Kiper has Dalton? |

Anyone know where Kiper has Dalton?
He definitely doesn't have Dalton in the first round. |

I believe every rumor that I hear this time of year and that's what makes me a more discerning fan.

I agree with this guy that Dalton is a fourth rounder at best!

If San Fran passes Gabbert could be ours. From What i hear buffalo isn't in to Gabbert and I don't think Cincy is either. They are more of a wild card. Arizona is rumored to just want a veteran.

Gabbert isn't that good, he just has the measurables you look for in an NFL QB. |

Anyone know where Kiper has Dalton?
Go to the Itunes store. Search for "First Draft." Click on podcast on the left hand side under the filer by media type section. The ESPN First Draft podcast will be in the top left corner where they have the cover art. Download the 3/8/2011 edition (Don't worry it's free). Fast forward to 14:00. Kiper talks about how he gets asked all the time why Dalton can't be a late first rounder and goes on to make a case that he could easily be worth one of those picks. Particularly to Seattle at 25. |
Crazy is all of the talking heads giving Newton to the Panthers! He's a 2nd-3rd round prospect, a one year wonder, a thief, and also a cheater. Crazy and amazing! |
Re: Dalton called a 4th round talent, yet could go 8th overall
I'm not sure how this whole 4th round thing is come from? I've purchased several draft magazines and all say he's 2nd or 3rd round draft pick. This prior to the Combine. I keep hearing that Dalton actually did very well at the Combine and actually may have improved his standing to late 1st to early 2nd.
Which is why I've been all for dropping back into the draft to pick up a 3rd rounder if we have a team whose willing to be a trading partner with us. But I'm actually starting to think if there is a run on QB's early then we might want to think about simply taking whoever the team is looking at for #10. I don't like the idea but we might have to. |

Both the top 10 and 4th round are extremes for Dalton and represent the wide array of opinions surrounding his stock. |
