Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
What non-rookie Redskin on Defense will have a breakout year in 2011? And why?

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
In order of liklihood.
1. Barnes - Most experience and right now we're looking at a wide open #2 Corner spot 2. Henson - Probably the mot upside of anyone in this pole. Right now he's looking at slightly more competition for the 2nd LB spot. 3. Bryant - Has a great chance of being stuck behind a rock and hard place with a slightly more promising rookie behind him in Neild and a likely big free agent signing or trade. Still has experience and started at the most important position when the team started to get a handle on the new Defense. 4. Riley - I like him but right now I like Henson more. |

I hope Barnes is ready to step it up.

Went Henson on the low, no shortage of passion from him, just has to prove it

Jarmon. No reason just a gut feeling.

I went Barnes, It's his 3rd yr why not then we can use that extra money on OL & DL.

Henson

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
I am going to go with one of the LB's. It doesn't appear we are signing any FA for the positions so Riley, Henson, Wilson are apparently going to get the opportunity to win the position. I am, and have always been, really high on Wilson but he isn't an inside LB, more outside. So I am going with Henson. Henson wins the job and starts along side of Fletcher, makes big contributions and has the "breakout year" on D.
(then we let him sign else where when a bigger name LB becomes available next year) |

Riley. I think he will be beastly.

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
I'll say Riley, if for no other reason than we can't find another ILB in free agency or a trade, and he finally gets his opportunity to step up.

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
With a legit pass rushing compliment on the other side I could see Rak taking a huge step forward... perhaps to the 14-16 sack range.
Granted we already know he's good, but I'm looking for him to take that next step to being great. |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
Yeah Barnes or Anthony Bryant are my favorites to breakout
|
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Defense
Anthony Bryant by a hair over Kevin Barnes, because I thing CB is a position with more growing pains than NT. I like both as future starters. Everyone else on this list is near their developmental ceiling, or is blocked.

Only difference this year is that I legitimately believe the future of that position is on the roster already. |
