It's Just Money
So now Obama feels we needed to spend 2.2 million on buses never need before. Great idea when we are out of money.

Re: It's Just Money
I'm not sure if you recall early in Obama's administration the Secret Service wanted approval for a new fleet of costly helicopters. The president scrapped it to save money. Oh, and how about when the Obama's used their own money to re-decorate the White House, instead of using tax payers money. I'm just saying, it would be nice if once in a while conservatives pointed these things instead of moaning about the government all the time.

Basically, Secret Service has it's own budget like any other government agency and this was a pretty good investment considering the cost to lease a bus and then retro-fit it to protect the president. |

Re: It's Just Money
1.1 million for a bus used to transport and protect the president of the free world seems really inexpensive. I mean, that thing doesn't even have nice rims.
I would have bought this: |
Re: It's Just Money
Leave up to some Republicans they we would much rather see Obama rolling like that.

I'd roll in that and put me a bike rack on the back formy matching bike. I thought the left was all about going green. |

The Republican presidential nominee will ride in one too? I hope they reject this wasteful government expenditure. |
Re: It's Just Money
Whether the curent trip Obama is on is a campaign trip or not is up for debate.
However, having some knowledge of what's done to these types of hardened vehicles, $ 1.1M is a pretty good cost. Gas mileage on that thing must be about 1-2mpg, glad to see Obama supporting Big Oil. (maybe he's got some Haliburton stock, and that could be why he won't bring the troops back, I wonder if MoveOn cronies will be outside the WH with "No Blood for Oil" posters). |
Re: It's Just Money
Sliggin, what's your opinion? You think it's a campaign trip?

Unless he isn't planning on running it most certainly is. As long as that bus has an office it is totally fine. |

Everyone knows what it is even the people on the left are saying its a campaign trip. As president you get a few of those on the taxpayers $ but once again his timing is poor and the timing on the bus just in time to start campaining. He is not the smartest guy. |

Serious question here, when is the right time? Congress is in recess, unemployment won't be appreciably better in the foreseeable future, and he is afterall doing town hall meetings. |
