This is why forcing fans to buy pre-season tix is a scam

I feel kind of bad for Pats fans who were forced to buy full priced tickets to tonights pre-season Giants/Pats game.

The Giants who are playing their 2nd pre-season game in less than 72 hrs are resting all their starters while the Pats plan to do the same.

It's a total joke.

I was hoping that the contract negotiations would lead to the NFL eliminating 1 or 2 of the preseason games.

4 pre-season games is WAY too many and does nothign other than line NFL owners pockets.

Don't most teams rest their starters in the fourth preseason game? I think the price for each preseason game should be different, with the highest price being the 3rd preseason game. Of course, there is no way in hell that will happen.

That was one of the reason I gave up my season tickets. Remember you only have to buy two per seat but the full price thing is what gets me.

Look at it this way, just add the 4 pre-season game ticket costs to the regular season package. It's an inherent cost with season tickets and everyone knows it, so although it may suck everything is fully disclosed IMO.

This whole thing really seems crazy to me, in France, even for a finale, nobody on earth would put more than 200 € ( about 280 $ ) in a ticket... in the regular season one team owner made a "buy one ticket, get one free for your girlfriend" offer...

Never been to a preseason game and the only way I could see myself going was if tickets are free. I still watch preseason all the time, but paying regular season prices to go to a game? Nahh. And I doubt the preseason model will change for owners. I mean we still saw 60k fans go to the Skins first preseason game. That's 60k tickets that sold to someone for full price. Until preseason games start getting attended like a Triple A baseball game the current system will never change.

I don't feel bad for any season ticket holder. You know what is more annoying than any D. Hall or Snyder argument? Even more annoying than listening to Cerrato tell how he'd sign Haynesworth all over again? It's a season ticket holder bitching about anything in regards to the prices of tickets.

It's simple. If you don't like the price, then don't buy the product. I shook my head at most of the idiots (yes, I'm calling you a idiot) that plopped money down for season tickets during the lockout, and then had the nerve to turn around and bitch about the lockout itself. Fans were lining up in scores for owners to screw them over, even after they locked the fans (and players) out of the very product they were paying for. If that isn't eye opening or saying a lot about the American consumer, I don't know what is.

Sorry I may come off a ass about it, but tough cookies. I can assure you I'm being less of a jackass than what the owners are being to you, and yet you line up and pay them big time money to be treated as such. At least mine is free! :silly:

It does put more money in their pockets but as fans we have the right to either go or stay home and watch. I choose to stay home. I can go to 2-3 home games a year for FREE and I still refuse to go.

I agree to a certain extent but some people scrimp and save for the money to buy these tickets

I would rather watch from the house. Comfy seat, internet to see what's going on elsewhere in the league, HDTV, and I can try to talk my wife into sex at halftime.

I agree. Free market. If you don't like it, don't buy the season tickets.

If you like the regular season enough to still want to buy the tickets along with the preseason tickets, then put up with it and shut up.

Money talks.

Irrelevant. They are still choosing to fork the money over, knowing full well what they're buying.
