Smoot Doesn't Lay The Smack Down (Mooby Does) (Redskins V. Cardinals)
Since the mods aren't present, I'll get this started. Feel free to start the Studs thread too.
Special Teams: More specifically, whoever failed to block Calais Campbell on that chip shot field goal that people are blaming Gano for. Was Gano supposed to block for his kick too? Come on people. Red zone offense: 2 for 7? Not good. Next point ties into this. Bad Rex Grossman: The second pick wasn't his fault but the first one was, and as well all know turning the ball over in the red zone is a BFD. We're lucky it didn't matter in the end, but it very easily could've. 2nd half defense: They ran roughshod over us in the second half. Now 2nd half injuries to our corners didn't help, but we could be looking at a different outcome if they had ran the ball a little more at the end. Feel free to add to this, this is just my preliminary list. |

What were you saying?
I was saying we could very easily be 1-1 right now. But you are right, we did win and winning hides the stains of poor play. But I'd hate for people to get fooled into thinking we're looking at a dominant team capable of winning every game with the kind of play we saw today. |
Re: Smoot Doesn't Lay The Smack Down (Mooby Does) (Redskins V. Cardinals)
Sometimes poor play calling in the red zone.
Poor clock management at the end of the game. |

I'll do the Scuds if you guys don't mind.

Kyle Shanahan needs to back out of the playbook and select "gameflow".

What were you saying?
uhhh...did you watch the game? the skins shot themselves in the foot so many times its a wonder they were able to walk off the field. Granted a come from behind win is good and all but you're being foolish if this win gives you any confidence in the Redskins that the problems of the past few years (kicking, bad qb play, OL blocking, giving up big plays on defense, red zone offense etc.) are any closer to being solved. |
Re: Smoot Doesn't Lay The Smack Down (Mooby Does) (Redskins V. Cardinals)
Skins shot themselves for sure. Last week we got good Dhall. This week it was good Dhall minus one huge blown coverage.
If we lost the game, he and Rex would've been the biggest culprits. |

Put it this way, I hope the coaching staff has perspective. It's great they were able to come back and pull this one out. Cannot take that away from them.
But the game should've been over in the first half. If a team like the Pats has the kind of yards and TOP we had they would ice the game off. Not saying we are that good, but there is definitely room for improvement. No need for this game to have been a nail bitter. Of course I am happy though, and will enjoy the win. But I am not blind. |
