Jones says Vinny stays as the #1 next year, he also continues to hint at his support for Henson. Something just doesn't seem right here, who exactly is running this ship?? I think Parcells could be finished in Dallas before too long. It just seems like Jones isn't willing to keep his nose out of things, and we've seen Parcells walk away from situations like this before. It wouldn't shock me if Parcells stepped down this offseason, just my opinion. |
I really don't see that happening. Maybe if next year is just as bad and Jones lips off I could see it, but quiting after just 2 years would surprise me.
If the Cowboys bring Vinny back as #1 then you can write them off already for next year. |
Vinny doesn't have to play football anyway, he can settle with retirement...

My guess is that the Cowboys will acquire a quarterback this offseason, someone young and who has experience. Parcells doesn't want to have his comeback ruined by sitting around for a number of years on the hope that the baseball player will develop into a solid starter. He also doesn't want to be forced to go with Testaverde all year either.
Cowboys | Parcells Had Little Confidence in Romo/Henson - from www.KFFL.com Sat, 15 Jan 2005 08:22:32 -0800 Matt Mosley, of the Dallas Morning News, reports during an interview with close friend Pat Summerall, Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells expressed his lack of confidence in the club's backup QBs Tony Romo and Drew Henson during this past season. "If I start one of those guys, by the end of the first quarter, we'll have 10 sacks and two interceptions and we'll be behind, 21-0," Summerall recalled Parcells saying. "He (Parcells) just thought it would be a disaster. He would be embarrassed. They would be embarrassed and the fans would be embarrassed." Cowboys | Parcells Had Mulled Retirement - from www.KFFL.com Sat, 15 Jan 2005 08:16:01 -0800 Matt Mosley, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells had considered retiring after this season, but has since decided to remain the club's head coach for 2005. "I think he did very seriously," close friend Pat Summerall said of Parcells contemplating retirement. "But I think those ideas and those thoughts are gone." Summerall later added that Parcells had told him he tried too hard to be a, "nice guy" to the media and that "I've got to go back to being a bad guy." |
It won't matter who the quarterback is when the Cowboys play the Redskins, whoever it is will look like a freakin' league MVP.
I mean come on, Vinny Testaverde? Remember his performance in the opening game of the 2003 season when he was with the New York Jets? All he had to do was put on a Cowboy uniform and for two games out of the season he's John Freakin' Elway. |
I thought when he was hired it would last 2 year's, who know's with Parcell's? I do know this Henson is horrible and will alway's be horrible he is athletic but not an athlete.

If those rumors about the Lions possibly releasing Joey Harrington are true, I'd think the Cowboys would be all over that
But if Henson is going to be the guy, then maybe they need to take the Carson Palmer approach-just name him the starter now and let him take his lumps instead of taking him in and out of games |

I agree....and hopefully the Redskins will be responsible for plenty of those lumps! :laughing2 |
The Redskins will never, ever, ever beat the Cowboys. Reading this thread is just giving me that sick feeling in my stomach that I got from the last Redskins-Cowboys game of the season.
I swear, EVERY year, I'm like, "Yup, they'll sweep those assholes this year." It never happens. As we've said every year, 2005 will be the year. Bring out the brooms folks. |
im pretty sure the harrington rumor was said to be false and didnt hold water. they have a corp group that they are tryign to groom there and joey did show some signs of maturing and coming along last year.

Joey still looks like a middle schooler though. LOL I think he'll be good soon though.
