Memories......

Sorta memories...

I was 5, but I remember being at a Super Bowl party (hosted by Skins fans).

CrazyCanuck 01-31-2005 02:55 PM

Love that win. They were up 10-0 and everyone was salivating over Elway and the Broncos. Then the 2nd quarter started...

Redskins_P 01-31-2005 03:03 PM

I remember having some family over and they left after the 1st quarter. My uncle was saying "the redskins lost" "it's over, they won't come back". I was kinda worried myself. I was only 9 yrs old, but I remember running to my room because I couldn't watch anymore. Then all of a sudden I hear everyone screaming in the house. I ran back out, and that was it. I don't think anyone sat down for one second during that 2nd quarter.

Does anyone think that somebody will ever break that record? 35 points in one quarter!!!!!

TheMalcolmConnection 01-31-2005 03:08 PM

I think my Dad was on the verge of anneurism during that game...

35 points in one quarter. Now there's a record that dare I say is "untouchable"? Good thing the classy Gibbs called of the dogs or we would have ran 60+ on them.

Daseal 01-31-2005 08:54 PM

There's no such thing as an untouchable record!

itvnetop 01-31-2005 09:19 PM

williams was unbelievable that quarter!

skinsguy 01-31-2005 09:58 PM

I did have that SB taped...

I remember in the first quarter when everything was going wrong..i kept thinking..." I'm going to suffer through another SB like the one I had to suffer through when they played the Raiders!"

And then the second quarter....boom! 35 points! It was like watching two different games...I think the Redskins just wanted to spot Denver a few points so they wouldn't feel completely like losers! :D

SmootSmack 01-31-2005 10:12 PM

Terry Orr jumping on the Ricky Sanders' (was it him or someone else?) fumble on the kickoff at the start of the second was huge. If the Broncos recover and go up 17-0 who knows what happens

Terry Orr...unsung hero. Too bad he went on to a life of white collar crime

Anyone know about possible Redskins games/Super Bowls on DVD? I would pay big bucks to get some of those on DVD.

This game was the one the made me into the Die hard skins fan that I am today. I was 9 at the time and living in western pa the steelers rule and I wasnt so sure of that, then I started to pay attntion to football and this is the 1st Super Bowl that I really watched. After the game I decided to follow the skins thru thick and thin. It is hard to believe that it was 17 years ago.

It is hard to believe that it has been 17 years ago. The first quarter sure was hard to watch, glad I had the courage to watch the second.
