I see. I think right now I'll handicap it

1. Cardinals
2. Redskins
3. Jets
4. Dolphins
5. Seahawks
6. Chiefs
Shaub for Orakpo and picks?
pfffffftttttttt
That would be stupid.
Hell no. I wouldn't even do that as straight player for player. If the Texans get manning and then try to trade Schaub his value goes down IMO.

My understanding is that he can be signed as soon as he is cut (today), correct?

We need to make this happen.

Doesn't he become a free agent then has to wait for free agency to begin? I have no idea that was just my understanding.

But he is a free agent because he is being cut, not because his contract is expiring. I think that is different, but I could be wrong.

He's a free agent right away

Great. The Skins need to make this happen.

I will order my Manning 18 Jersey tomorrow, I promise.

Although, does anyone think that since his neck problems seem to have started with two Redskins hitting him (possibly in a "bounty" situation) that Manning might not want to come here?

So what is the point of waiting for free agency to start? We should just start signing everyone.

That was my thought when I saw that replay on Monday...but then I remembered Peyton is the consummate professional and wont let something like that effect his decision.

No, he's different because he's being released of his contract. The other free agents don't have their contracts officially expire until next week.

1. Cardinals (Most likely:Indoor stadium, warm weather good for getting loose, L. Fitz, has a history of bringing in vet QB's like K. Warner, went 8-8 last year with pathetic QB play)
2. Dolphins (Likely: Owner wants a big name, has a good defense/WR's in place)
3. Seahawks (Maybe likely: Rumored to be willing to put a big package together)
4. Redskins (Possible: Maybe interested but still has equal interest in drafting RG3)
5. Chiefs (Less likely:Has a need at QB and some pieces to put around Manning)
6. Jets (Unlikely:Tough salary cap number, would overshadow 'lil bro, would have to cut Sanchez to sign Manning)

Ok that makes sense, thank you.

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

If we sign Manning I'll withhold judgement and feelings until after free agency and the draft. If we make the move to bring in PM and a Tannehill or Cousins then I think it's a solid football move. If we don't draft a QB of the future in the top 2 rounds then it's a dumb short sighted only move.

I'm still of the belief that he ends up in AZ or Miami and we make the move for RGIII.

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

I think the primary plan is still to move up for RGIII, but the pressure is definitely on to make that deal happen soon. If they can't get it done PM is the fallback option.
