Starting my first season in college football.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this to be in but was wondering what you guys think and if you can give my some pointers. =P

So at my school Faulkner University Athletics - Football I will be a sophomore trying out for my first season, I played my freshman year on the schools soccer team as a keeper and enjoyed but wanted to get back into football, I hadn't played football since 8th grade sadly. When we moved from MD to AL my school didn't have a team only soccer. So this summer I have been training I would like to be a fullback or a tightend(although i am only 5'11" 220.lbs) but the team runs the spread offence so I don't believe they run a FB. So If you guys know some good sites that I could read on and some other ways to train that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and HTTR!!!

Good luck bro.

How fast are you? 5'11 at 220 mostly implies either you are slightly overweight or built like brick house.

What kind of training are you doing? Sprints? Plyometrics? Weights? Box jumping? Ankle flops?

Re: Starting my first season in college football.

Right now my 40 is at 4.9 - 5.0 but right I am doing the sprints the team gave as a summer work out with my parachute, so I can feel I am getting a little faster, but yes, I lift weights with a group of guys 4 days a week and do Plyometrics 2 days and sprints another 2 days. From soccer my legs are no issue with squats and stuff, however my bench isnt as good as I want, but my goal by the end of the summer is to be around 250. Now my school plays in NAIA so we aren't playing any Auburns or Alabamas but the school are very talented. But NC i feel I am kinda in between the brick house and slightly overweight, its more I need to gain muscle!

5) Exercise caution if participating in the school "Bounty program"......
6) Good Luck, and keep us informed of your progress!
