The Friday thread
I'm doing my best to do nothing today, and it's working out pretty well!
So... anything good on tap for the weekend other than avoiding this crazy heat? |
re: The Friday thread
Weather is great today. Going out for a new thing in the city called food truck food court. Gourmet food truck is the new "hip" thing, so there doing this thing where 8-9 show up serving top notch tacos, asian fusion, orgainic, vegan...just all types. Looking forward to it with a couple friends. This weekend is going be chill, cause the next 4 weekends are gonna be packed with beach, concerts, lake, etc.

re: The Friday thread
I'm taking the weekend off from my second job and hitting up Kings Dominion (VA theme park) on Sunday. I know we're halfway through the season, but I got a season pass to Kings Dominion recently. I figure if I go twice before the end of the season, I'll have justified it, and that shouldn't be too hard. Tomorrow I'm planning on finally going to see Ted with friends, and then get into whatever afterwards.

re: The Friday thread
We are heading down to Nags Head to attend a wedding. The reception should be great because this guy is loaded and when his first daughter got married I figured he dropped 100 g on that one. Sunday we will spend the day on the beach and I'm sure my daughter will wear me out running around the beach all day.
Chico: That sounds pretty cool. Do they have a beer truck and other things to do besides eat and how odten do they have that going on? |
re: The Friday thread
Thank the Dao its Friday.
Tonight, going to a small club to hear some fine acoustic music with friends. After that, hopefully a lot of time in the garden and revisiting some old Monty Python films like The Meaning of Life and The Life of Brian. |

Stuck in Logan Airport until 5:50 by the time I get home, wife and kids will be on Maryland's Eastern Shore. So after a week of intensive training, I come home to an empty house. Blech.
Tomorrow, however, Symphony in the park and fireworks! |

You asked for it, Matthew.

re: The Friday thread
Well I just had a fun time. My Co2 detector went off. I tried resetting it, changed the battery, and it still went off 3 different times. Called 911 and had the FD come out to take a reading. Thankfully the reading was negative. All they could think of is maybe the detector is shot.

re: The Friday thread
Nice. Love these home breakdowns.
Last weekend, got to buy a new washing machine. Still have to get around to replacing the garbage disposal and the touch-screen on the thermostat is now being flaky. |

I had something similar happen last week to mine...I kind of figured if I'm still breathing while resetting it, changing the battery etc. then something must just be wrong with the detector. Then again I don't know how long CO poisoning takes |

If the levels are low it will just slowly make you sick. Flu like symptoms is what they told me. If the levels are high enough you probably won't have much time to react. |

Oh great, they have overbooked my flight.
I hate airports. |
re: The Friday thread
Just in case anyone hasn't seen this. The best version of the "Friday" song.

re: The Friday thread
Well technically my "Friday" is tomorrow. I work Tuesday through Saturday.
Ah, working for a small business. :/ |
re: The Friday thread
Staying in, getting drunk listening to Pandora while watching the Nats win again. After the crazy stressful week I had at work, this was seriously just what I wanted to do.
|
re: The Friday thread
Another Friday, another weekend ahead. I've got a friend's bbq to go to tomorrow, might try to check out the new Batman on Sunday.
|
re: The Friday thread
I have a B day party to go to tonight and golf tomorrow. The rest of the weekend I'm clearing off our lot some before we begin to build.
|
re: The Friday thread
I'll spend this weekend fighting the urge to buy a new (used) motorcycle.
I shouldn't, but I want it, but I don't need it, but I really WANT it, but I shouldn't but I really, really want it..... etc |
re: The Friday thread
Party with former students tonight. Then yard work and kickin' back the rest of the weekend.

re: The Friday thread
Today hasn't been exceptionally great so far. First the news about the Batman shooting (which I'm sure everybody will be discussing, especially since me and friends were considering going to see it this weekend), then I forget my wallet so no lunch at work, plus it's pouring rain outside, which is supposed to last for the rest of the day, and I don't get to ride HOV today because my boss is on vacation (which makes my 1/2 hr HOV commute into a 45-1 1/2 hr disaster). Me and a friend were considering going to the Nats game tonight, but we've cancelled since he has other things to do and it's probably going to get rained out anyway. Hopefully this weekend will be better. I don't have plans, aside from maybe going to see Batman with some friends possibly tomorrow night.

Better how can it get any worse? |
re: The Friday thread
Boxed Sangria after taking off a few hours early.
Wife and I lost a combined 50 pounds now, so our reward is crappy wine. :D |

Wife and I lost a combined 50 pounds
Congratulations, that's pretty impressive......unless you were both 300Lbs +? |
re: The Friday thread
I will be putting together a coffee table and a bookshelf that I've been putting off for a couple of weeks. Other than that well have a couple of friends over to play poker/dominos and smoke some Hookah.
Might see Batman but I don't know if I want to with packing some heat given the craziness of people |
Beverage tasting at Ellwood Thompson!

Haha, nah. Frankly, we both started slowing creeping up after our wedding five years ago. We record our weight daily and as soon as I saw that I had gained almost 50 lbs, I said enough of this shit. Should have done it when I had gained 20. Bad lifestyle choices which basically led to putting down the bottle and putting down the fork. Really helped a lot, lol. |

I could die in a random accident? Just because I've had a shitty day doesn't mean I need to dwell on it. |

Good job! Your 48-pound loss is impressive. Your wife should be proud of you. :D |
re: The Friday thread
This weekend, I rode a roller coaster with the neighbor's wife, he's a Giants' fan.
Don't worry. My wife OK'd it. :D |

re: The Friday thread
No, he was on the ground watching me ride with his wife.
He still can't brag too much, after all we embarrassed them twice with Rex Grossman last season. He's a good guy despite his choice of team. Better than the Eagles fans on the other side of me...they're complete white trash from Jersey Shore, NJ...have had to call the cops on them several times. What a neighborhood...Skins, Giants and Eagles fans as neighbors. No Dallas fans in sight luckily. We have a lot of Skins fans in our development despite being in PA. |
