He's a Redskins through and through, but business is business

If they give him a fair deal but it's less than what he is asking for he'd stay...but not too much less

Talked to Champ a couple of weeks ago

The feeling he and some other Redskins sometimes have is that potential Redskins are wined and dined more than current Redskins and that's a tendency that has to change

Ray Brown was the soul of the team last year, or something like that

Having Gibbs here is a big thing because he's proven himself and he's committed to the job

Smoot is one of the few redskins I feel REALLY wants to be a Redskin.

Smoot definitely sounded like he wanted to be here...I could picture his agent pulling his hair out when Smoot said if it was just a matter of one or two million dollars he'd stay here for less

Smoot's a good guy and a quality Redskin. His current demands are just rediculous though. maybe when free agency starts and he sees his true value he will come back to the skins, unless some other team overpays him and blows the skins out of the water.

Honestly I hope with Rolle in the market that other teams will shy away from Smoot.

id like to see him back, but i want him to come at a fair price. give him a big bonus with a smaller contract

I hope we get him back and he is right about us wine and dining other free agents and not our own loyal players. that does need to change

The sad thing is, that's the nature of the business. I'd like to see a more proactive role in maintaining our free agents but if we DON'T go out and wine and dine prospective free agents, then it's going to ALSO be a problem. They won't be swooned by the Redskins on hopes and dreams unfortunately.
