He had to learn how to keep himself safe, and he's doing better. You can't blame the scheme when he's the one running the plays.

I said we don't plan to run it as our base offense, not that we weren't going to run some read option plays at all. There is a huge difference in what I said. How do I know? Because we aren't running it as a base right now. The first few games we ran a lot of the read option and have been tapering off as the weeks have gone by.

edit: As noted by people that do know, RGIII doesn't like the read option.
