Re: Saints Bounty Penalties Vacated
Now...on to those bogus salary cap penalties. We should get the $36 mil back plus an extra 1st rounder for the negative impact from it being implemented unfairly in 2012.

And it should be the Giants first rounder. |
Re: Saints Bounty Penalties Vacated
I'm curious to see if civil suits come against the NFL as a result. I feel it's fairly easy to argue that these players had their brand irreparably damaged by the first ruling and will want to get some sort of compensation.

Isn't that prohibited by the collective bargaining agreement? The player just need to get over it. |

Goodell has egg on his face.

Not really. I mean it is somewhat embarrassing that the NFL screwed up the "punishment" process. But in the end this ruling doesn't say that Vilma and Co. are innocent. IMO they are not. |

Right, Tags is just saying he doesn't think the punishment was justified. |
I hope this gives us some leverage in getting 36 million in cap space back.

Because Goodell wanted these guys to miss a lot of games and with Vilma the entire year. This might have costed Hargrove his career. The punishment didn't fit the crime and most people would agree with that. Obviously Paul T. did as well. |
Re: Saints Bounty Penalties Vacated
Next up: Returning the 36 million the NFL stole from the Redskins.

Imo, Goodell has never cared about bounties. Goodell only wants to be able to go into the thousands of law suits from former players suing for concussions and be able to say that the players were doing it to themselves and that the league was trying to protect them. That the players were offering 5-10 thousand for possible career ending and life altering hits but the league did everything within its power to stop it. Goodell has what he wants, imo he couldnt care less about punishment for the players or about the bounties in the first place. Its a tool by the NFL to try and save billions in future law suits that we all know are coming. |

IMO we'll never see 36 mil. returned. But we may see 18 mil., or whatever our current remaining balance is, returned. |
