Wow ! I guess RG111 and Luck might be looking at 150 million in a few years :) All I want for Christmas is to be a QB !!

Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
I just don't get the hate for Romo, Idk I just have always seen him as a pretty good QB. His numbers are very good and his winning % is good. Is he Aaron Rodgers? NO but he's pretty good.
|
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
100 million is way too stupid
|

I understand the hate. Just look at the last game of the season. game on the line, ball in your hands, you throw a lob and pick to end the season. A Skins qb would be run out of town with Romos big game record. |
1-1,000,000 in games that matter.
Does he rack up stats? Yup Does he get wins? Yup Does he make bone headed plays at crucial times? Yup Are going to win a Superbowl with him? Nope. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
55 mil guaranteed to a guy who is about to turn 33 is absolutely crazy. By the time the new TV money hits the cap in a couple of years, Jerry will already have that spent. It looks like Jerry wants to have his cap full several years in advance.
|
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
6 years, that's kinda crazy, i bet romo isn't even their starting qb two years from now

Romo is horrible under pressure. He has proven to be a brilliant choke artist in the playoffs. His awful post-season showing will probably be why he'll always be considered medium. Good, but never great. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
It takes a team to WIN but what I don't understand is there's no I in TEAM but your QB takes up a 1/4 of your payroll and yet wants to be called a TEAM player. This is meant for basically every Top QB out there, I'm all for unions and making your money but don't team me. I know we will be doing the same thing in about 3yrs and I know I will be all for it.

Let's hear what McNobody has to say about this contract.

Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
romo is not worth $55mill gauranteed. i'm sorry, but that's nuts.

I love how the Cowpukes are slowly turning into the Raiders. Perfect!!!

And haven't signed draft picks yet. RT @Jimmy_Beast: Cowboys have $148,561,185 on their 2014 cap, by far the largest amt in the NFL. holy cow for comparison I think we have around 103k and I believe a younger roster. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
Jason Witten, DeMarcus Ware, and Miles Austin have all restructured and all are relatively young. Not rookie young, but not old either. Oh, and Dez Bryant's rookie deal is up in two years.
If Romo is still on the roster collecting that coin in 3 years, one of those above will probably be gone. |

Also he leads the NFL in 4th Qtr QB rating, so how is he a choke artist? Is peyton Manning a choker because he has a losing playoff record? Romo is a baller, dude gets like 30 tds and 12 ints a season, I hate Dallas but I am also a realist. Plus who were they going to replace him with? Same with flacco in Baltimore. Career 65% passer and 96 QBR. Thats pretty damn good |

Austin is 29 so he is still in his prime. Tony also is 33, qbs do last longer, but in year 4 he will be 37, and they will still have several million in deadcap probably if they cut him. |

No, sir. Both Witten and Ware were born in 1982. They turn 31 years old in May and July, respectively. I think we're making the same point though. |

You are right. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
Just an absurd deal. One playoff win gets you that kind of money?
Insane. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
I said he's a choke artist in the playoffs. What good is he if he gets you to the post season and then totally fails?
Dude is the Lebron of the NFL. He's not going anywhere with Dallas. At least not this year. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
I guess I should've said, Romo is what Lebron was to the Cavs.

Knew that's what you meant. I just can't wrap my head around giving a 33 year-old quarterback a 6 year deal. Not only that, to Romo, AND worth 108 million. I mean, how many quarterbacks play til they're 39, 40 years old? Apparently Jerry Jones has a mental illness that forces you to run your team into the ground. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
this is so awesome
|
Just texted my cowboy fan cousin. His response can't be repeated on this family friendly site. But as bad as we think the deal is, plenty of cowboy fans think its worse.
|
Maybe we trade for Romo.
Lol no thanks. I'm just saying he's pretty good. All time cowboys passer? Is that not a big time achievement? |

Ask him if he wants Quincy Carter or drew bledsoe instead? |

In games needed to win to continue the Cowboys season, he is 1-6. RGIII has already tied him. He is just good enough to make you think he is good enough. |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
Wonder how much Aaron Rogers is about to make. I really hope griffin takes the Brady path and takes less money so skins dont have as big of a salary cap hit. Still get his money but not the amount flacco or romo makes. Be smart and get most of your money guaranteed but not a huge cap hit... Like Brady.

He is just good enough to make you think he is good enough.
That's the problem with team sports though, like if u ask ncskins about Tom Brady's record he'll say it's because of the team around him but if u ask about romos record it's because he sucks. IMO it's about team not 1 guy, Tony has no line at all and no running game. Not to mention Griffin and our offense was owning the Dallas defense in that game. His fumble game should have been a win against Seattle, that was basically a fluke play |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
People were going crazy about flacco being overpaid. I said he's setting the market price for QBs. Romo just got more money than flacco. Now were all laughing at romo getting a huge deal. This time, rightfully so.
|
Here's the truth about Tony, if he played anywhere else besides Dallas he would be considered a big time QB.
|
See. I just disagree. He would still toss untimely INT's and fold at inopportune times. If he played "anywhere" else, he would not get half the press he gets now.
|
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
W
T F If I was a cowboys fan, I'd jump ship. That's crazy money for a qb that's not in the top 10, and probably not top 20. Jerry jones has lost it. |

Reminds me of Matt Stafford. Puts up good numbers the past 2 years but since he's playing with a shitty team, nobody really cares. Romo is only as good as everyone believes he is because 1) he's with Dallas 2) Dallas is "America's team" :vomit: |
Re: Cowboys Sign Romo to $108M Deal: Skins Fans Rejoice!
Tony isn't an awful QB but I can name 9 better than him.

but brady only did that after making his mega millions, and in fact by restructuring got more this year just less in salary cap hits. It was funny to listen to radio the day after his signing as the media realized that TB was not being the generous saint that initial reports made him out to be. When Griffins contract comes up we will be paying him probably 20 to 25 percent of our cap (especially if he has a SB victory on his resume). That's most likely reality. |
