Bad news to Dallas fans
Dallas Cowboys: Marco Rivera, the ex-Packers Pro Bowl guard who last week received a $9 million signing bonus to sign a free agent contract with the Cowboys, underwent back surgery Thursday in Dallas after experiencing pain while running on a treadmill, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Rivera, 32, is expected to be inactive for four-to-six weeks after surgery that repaired a L-5 disk problem, the sources said. He experienced significant pain in a leg when he was running on a treadmill Wednesday morning in Baltimore, where he was honored at the annual Ed Bloch Awards. Rivera underwent the operation in Dallas and was said to be resting comfortably at Presbyterian Hospital. Rivera is expected to recover in time for training camp in late July, sources said. A Cowboys spokesman had no comment about Rivera's status.
Peter King has yet to comment on how back surgery will affect Rivera's inevitable Pro Bowl season. |

Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
I hate when people get injured... BUT at least we should see Bledsoe on his back some more this year. :)

Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
The ink wasn't even dry. It will be intresting to see if Dallas looks in to see if this was known prior to him signing his contract. Dallas took the lead this year paying older players big bucks to sign with them. They obviously missed how that blew up in our face. I hope their luck is as bad as ours was signing these older players.

Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
I'd love to see them end up with an even WORSE record this year. Everyone was all like, "Oh, they'll get worse before they get better." I think they're just going to get worse. They'll end up 2-14 because we can NEVER beat those assholes! (JK, we WILL beat them this year.)

Maybe he's their version of Dave Fiore?!
Let's hope so. |
Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
While I don't wish personal injury on anyone, it is nice to see anything that hurts the Cowboys as a team!

Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
I agree. Even though deep down (at least I know I am) I am relieved when an opposiing player is "incapacitated" in any way. I'll be honest.

Re: Bad news to Dallas fans
Couldn't happen to a nicer team. I'd love a good ole fashion mass casualty year for the Cowturds this coming year. We went through a decent one last year and it wasn't fun. It's someone else turn and my vote is them. Maybe Parcells' head will explode if they lose 10 or so games. That would be entertainging to see Parcells have a meltdown and end up huddled up and crying in Jerry Jones' arms asking not to be fired. Of how sweet that would be.
