Any Courtney Brown info??
I know he was at Redskins Park today but I was wondering if anyone has heard any contract talk. I really hope we get him.

Skins.com is saying that Gibbs has remarked that Brown had a "good visit." Redskins.com also said that Brown is expected to visit several other teams before signing with a team. I don't know if that means much of anything. |
Re: Any Courtney Brown info??
well i guess on the bright side it shows that the skins didn't offer him a contract that was too big for him to turn down. the skins need to get him at a fair price.

Re: Any Courtney Brown info??
So much for Gibbs's claims that he wasn't going to let Courtney leave without a signed contract. You think that gave Brown license to up the asking price? Stupid. The Skins need a GM.

Re: Any Courtney Brown info??
hopefully the skins gave him and offer and said take it or leave it. i hope they don't over pay.

OK but if we didn't show a want he may not have felt as if he was really wanted here. Not everything we do is wrong. We hold our ground( I am guessing) and we run all over them and if they shoot the gun too fast they are again critisized. remember that he was going to get 8 mill this year. I wounder how most of us would feel if we were going to recieve only 25% of what we thought we were getting....... that is still 0 for me so :party-smi |

Re: Any Courtney Brown info??
Brown is a player of his word. He said he would go around to all the teams that were intrested and that is what he is doing. Hopefully he will see that the skins are the best option for him and decide to comes on board.

You can show a want without overplaying your hand. |

Re: Any Courtney Brown info??
Good to hear the Skins aren't jumping all over Brown. When I heard they were planning on signing him on Wed. before leaving I was like uh-oh, probably not a good move for a player with an extensive injury history like Brown.
You definitely want to make sure he's not damaged goods, especially since the Browns said he failed a physical before they released him. |

This article makes me wonder. Reports have gone from the Skins aren't going to let Brown leave Redskins Park without a contract to he had a a good visit, we're still interested but no signing is imminent. Are they just being cautious or are they concerned about his injuries, or is his asking price too high? Or I guess it could be a combo of both too. Noble had some good things to say about him: "I came by to say hi," Noble said. "I know Courtney. He's a standup guy. He'd fit in well in this locker room. He's had some bad luck with some injuries. I can appreciate that. He's had more than most people deserve. And I think a fresh start would be good. And I'd love to have him do it here. "I told him that this is a team going in the right direction, and it's a good group of guys. It's fun to come to work. . . . I tried to sell him a little bit on it. We'll see what happens." |
