Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
i'D LIKE TO SEE Massaquoi he's pretty good
|
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
I don't know. He hasn't really shown much so far in the league. Good person to get a look at now though, possibly for the offseason. I wouldn't be surprised if Moss, Morgan, and Robinson are all gone after this season so they'll need to look at WRs.
I think DJ Smith could be an interesting prospect |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
^ Yeah I love Moss but he just doesn't really produce anymore and Robinson catches like 10 a year if that.. I really would like to see them get a Taller WR for the redzone in the future.

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
Anything to light fire under the current occupants of roster spots.
Jason Smith? Are we really working that guy out? |

Jason Smith? Are we really working that guy out?
LOL. Too funny and big time gaffe by Yahoo. I'm sure they meant this Jason Smith: Jason Smith, T for the New York Jets at NFL.com I wonder if we can bring out the potential Jason Smith had coming out as a first rounder. Were his issues mainly that he was injury prone? I wonder if he'd be an upgrade at RT. |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
Oh Snap.. Darrell Greens son. To bad it's not an exact replica.

Although he was a ghost last weekend, he's probably still our most productive guy outside of Garcon. That said, I think it says more about our talent level at the position right now, than Moss himself. |

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
any coincidence that Nick Stephens and Jared Green both spent solid time with the Cowboys?

Weekly usually. Its funny because I am also related to Mike Tolbert from the Panthers. But yeah I just talked to Mohammed about 4 days ago. |

After Garcon, Hank seems to be RG3's next favorite target. |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
LOL I clicked on Jason Smith in the first paragraph and it took me to a basketball players biography. Pretty sure not the same guy.

The basketball player is probably a better guard than the Jason Smith drafted by the Rams. Three teams have already given up on him. |

Wow that's pretty cool. Actually use to work with someone who "knew" d hall. Got him on the speaker phone while he was with Atlanta one time. Wish I was with the board back then, coulda gotten a signed jersey for gtripp. |

thats pretty cool man |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
I wish we would invite Chris Rainey or Kerry Rhodes for a workout. Rainey would be electric in our system and on special teams. Rhodes could be a major help in the secondary, regardless of his sexual orientation.
|
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
rhodes being gay has to be the reason teams aren't signing him

It would be really messed up if it was. Teams not signing a proven vet, who had a good year last year ( 58 tackles and 4 ints). Seems very odd. |

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
Just work out for now
Smoke screen. I don't see us signing anyone barring injury. I wish we would at least sign a safety. We need all the help back there we can get. |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
well, i mean... did our D magically get better, or was it the raiders making them look good?
also our special teams have to be close to #32 in the league. they just can't do anything right, so i'm sure there are upgrades out there. i don't know that bringing in people now will help a lot this year (no offseason, new terminology etc), but yeah, we have some work to do. |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
How unusual is it for a team to hold tryouts like this on its bye week?
|

It's pretty common and usually just for info gathering. |

Wrong answer. The truth is it never happens. We're holding the tryouts to mask the fact that RG3 isn't totally healthy but Shanahan is afraid Kirk Cousins will play well. That's the answer you're supposed to give! |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players

Not at all. He won't take a pay cut, that's the main reason why teams won't sign him. Cardinals tried to bring him back on multiple occasions. He said no every time |

Hell, I'd say sign his son. Have DG come to all practices and everything and also have him to coach our current DBs. Hell maybe even suit him up some and sneak him in some games.. I have no doubt hes still fast and can play better than some we have now if not most. |

How unrealistic is his contract expectation? |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
How unrealistic is his contract expectation?
I mean last I heard he turned down a 1 year, $3 million deal from the Cardinals. This after he rejected 1 year, $2 million. You know how many DBs are playing on one year deals for much less than $2 million? A lot |
Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
wow. i guess he's not interested in football anymore then. i doubt he'll ever get a better offer than that.
