Since Don hasn't been posting his weekly thread, I thought I'd start one for those interested in ATS action each football weekend. Post your picks, thoughts, strategies, etc.

Currently I'm leading The Don's league ATS at 38-25 (60%). Here's my picks this week (and yes I'm in on each one):

BUF +4.5
PHI +2.5
STL -12
NYG +10
DET +7
CAR -2.5
MIA -3
IND +3 (also IND +125 money line)
HOU +6.5

Other picks, I'm not in on these though:
NE -1
NO -1
TEN +3
DAL +9
OAK +5

8-7 overall, not a great week last week, but not terrible. EJ Manuel's 3rd qtr injury and a late scratch of Calvin Johnson contributed to a couple Ls.

If you look at the largest point spreads in NFL history only the 1976 Steelers covered a -27 vs. Tampa in their first season. Other games where Dogs covered:

NE in 2007: -24 PHI, -20.5 NYJ, -22 MIA
SF -24 vs CIN 1993
SF -23.5 @ ATL 1987
DAL -23 vs TB 1977
NE -21 at TB 1976

- Henne will start at QB, veteran and likely to protect the ball better than Gabbert.

- Broncos D has given up 23 to NYG and 21 to OAK, averaging 27 per game.

- Jax has one of the higher SoS so far, DEN one of the lower.

As of 7:53pm, Spread is WAS +6, down from +6.5 earlier this week. I will never bet against the Skins....I recommend to stay off this game.

Overall 7-6-1 last week, not great but did pick JAX, TEN wins and pushed with AZ.

Since my picks are stats based, historically (last 4 years) my picks increase to over 63% accurate from Week 8 and on. As of Week 5, I'm still leading Don's League for ATS picks at 46-31 (59.7%). Also, in that league I never pick against the Skins, who are 1-4 ATS this year.

MIN +3.5

Redskins are -1 this week, I will not bet this game.

Tough week 7. Here's Week 8, and picks from a stats-based system that has been accurate over the last 4 years at 63%+.

I'm in on these:
WAS +13
OAK +3 (also money line at +130)
STL +11.5
ATL +2.5
CAR -6.5
CIN -6.5
PHI -5.5
DAL +3
KC -7.5
JAX +17

Others: NO -12, MIA +7, GB -9.5

For Weeks 8 - 12, my picks are 35-20-3 and up $ 1530.00.

For all NFL picks in the Don's league, I was leading thru Week 10 and am now 99-73-4 (57.5%). Don hasn't updated the standings since Week 10, but I had strong Weeks 11-12 so I'm probably still leading ATS. Most "experts" are below 50% this season.
