But no really, that's sad. Another case of the Fletch's; should've retired last year. Especially after having won a Super Bowl. Nobody should want their last year to be known as, that old broke down dude who used to be good.

Reed is done, injuries took their toll. Hell of a career, one of the best safeties of all time no doubt.

I did just read that Fred Smoot thinks we should pick up Reed.

Unless Reed can play DB, I don't think Reed would be much of a help. He wouldn't be an upgrade from Meriweather.

Reed criticized the coaching after the game,plus he was stinking it up,so Texans said time to get his ass out of here.That was a waste of 6 million bucks and a roster spot,not to mention not saying anything about his injury till after locking in the money.

"Reed signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the franchise this past offseason. He locked in $6 million on that deal in guaranteed money, only to reveal once he finished the move that he was suffering from a nagging hip injury. Reed then sat out the entire preseason and the first two weeks of the regular season, before making his debut in Week 3 against Baltimore.

In an unfortunate coincidence, the Texans were 0-7 with Reed in the lineup and 2-0 without him."

End of a great era. In his prime Reed was one of the best playmaking safeties ever.

Reed is an upgrade over Meriweather at FS. The move would slide Meriweather to SS. I would put in a claim. Nothing to lose on a half season deal.

Should have retired with Ray. Then again, if somebody is going to give you free money why not. Truthfully, both him and Ray were bad their last year in Baltimore. Ravens were smart to let them go, we on the other hand re-sign them to stupid contracts.
