Gardner not going to Seattle???
The Seahawks have been rumored to be one of the teams that might toss a draft choice the Skins way to get Rod Gardner. However, a former colleague of mine who is in the Seattle area told me last night that the sculltebut out there is that Joe Jurevicious (sp?) is the WR that the Seahawks really want and that Gardner is only a fallback for them.
Don't know if that's accurate or not, but that's "the word" from out west... |
Re: Gardner not going to Seattle???
Unfortunately for us, we held on to Gardner one year too long. In 2003, Coles had a great year(82 rec. 1200 yds) and hid Gardner's decent(for a #2) 59 rec. 600 yd. numbers. It also hid the fact that his routes are terrible and that he was not aggressive to the ball. I understand that the play call is more conservative now than in 2003, but for a receiver who is 6' 3" 220 lbs., conservative = short to intermediate routes, possession receiver, 80-90 receptions, etc. The Seahawks are complimenting this guy for even considering him as a fall back. I'm waiting for him to fall ON his back.

There's still enough interest out there for him, we'll unload him soon enough.

Re: Gardner not going to Seattle???
Too bad Gardner would've fit in great with Seattles WR corp. They could've lead the league in drops!

Yeah, I'll have to call up my former colleague on this one and give him an "Attaboy". |
Re: Gardner not going to Seattle???
Hey, maybe we could trade him to an NFC east team...then maybe he'd really start to help the Skins!
