Just heard Peyton gets to keep his passing yards record. Good for him. Amazing how he had another MVP year this late in his career. Even if he never gets back to the SB again, he's a surefire first ballot HOFer.

Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
Is Manning the best ever? IMO, he is. I feel like he's done more with way less than Brady has. I think Brady is an extremely, EXTREMELY close second.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
IMO P.Manning is the best QB ever and we are witnessing his best season.
|
Brady and manning are pretty much equal , I'd take Tom though
|
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
Brady hands down, he might not have the #'s but he just wins.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
We'll probably never see it, but I imagine Brady wouldn't raise up another team like Manning has. Anyways, back on topic, sorry to make it Manning/Brady. :D

Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
It's pretty amazing the Pats are 12-4 considering their injuries and lack of playmakers on offense. Gotta give a lot of that credit to Brady. Without him they're probably below .500

That's what I was thinking. Other than Moss and Gronk, he's never had top tier talent around him. Wes Welker was on his 3rd team by the time he came to be on the Patriots(was primarily a return specialist) and they molded him into the epitome of the perfect slot receiver. This season Manning has an arguably more talented defense, has 3 top 10-15 wrs, and one of the best home field advantage stadiums in the league and only had one more win. They are both great QB's but I'd take being lead to 5 Super Bowls and winning 3 of them than 2 Super Bowls and winning one. |
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
This is similar to the Dan Marino discussion I've had with Dolphin fan friends of mine for years. I would say that Marino & Manning are the best passers in the history of the league, with Manning being #1. Marino put up astounding numbers but like Manning, historically would come up short in big games.
However, I consider Brady the better QB because I think he's a better leader and a better winner. He's always had the better coach but a lesser supporting cast yet he just wins, wins, wins. Not a slight on Manning's greatness, but Brady is the better QB in my mind. |

I don't know I just kinda see Manziel as Flutie 2.0, just more athletic. I really like Bridgewater myself and like his pure pocket passing ability. |
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
I think manzeil as a tremendous athlete just not sure he is pro qb material. In regards to Peyton, he is the best regular season qb I have ever seen but there are a few qbs I would take over him in the playoffs

No way, TB is the real thing. Manziel is lil bitch, I'd worry about maturity issues Ryan leaf style |

Both are great . Manning has had better WR's, Brady , better teams . As far as the Wild Card games , the Chargers have to hope the weather in Cincy is much warmer than the last time they had a playoff game on the Ohio river ( 81' Champ Game ). Chiefs / Colts and SF @ GB should be great games ! |

I think this helps Cousin's stock if we truly want to trade him for a pick. The lower the supply the higher the demand. Chaching! |

The room grew intensely quiet, and none of the players said a word for the rest of the meeting." Basically imagine your boss saying this to you at work. I can tell you, here he would have been immediately fired and lead out the building. |
Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style
Yeah, wow, Pfieffer is pretty dumb. He could easily have fired Kluwe for whatever reason if he didn't say all the crap he did to him. I mean, I would even be okay with the organization firing him openly for not liking his views and thinking it was against organizational principles, but no one should be treated that way in the work place.
Now, don't get me wrong, I do support Kluwe's views, and I do support free speech, but I feel that organizations have a right to espouse beliefs as well. So, I think organizations should be able to let people go for things they say publicly, because I would want to be able to let people go for outrageously bigoted public statements. |

I would think Cutler's backup Josh McCown would be the top vet available based on how good he was this season (and pretty sure I heard his contract is up). |

You're disposable. If your coach tells you to be quiet on the subject then do it. Keep you highly paid job kicking a damn football. Stop making waves and do this stuff when you're retired. |

I love Kluwe, not just for his social views, but for the fact he's a huge gamer nerd, but I think you might just have to let it go dude. |

Just like the duck Dynasty BS, Kluwe is free to say what he wants, and his employer is free to let him go if they wish.

In the article he states that his release was most likely related to his pay vs performance as well as the outspoken part. I don't particularly like the titles of the article because it doesn't reflect what he says. Also, when you have the owner telling you to continue doing what you are doing, what the hell is the guy supposed to do? Me personally, I think Kluwe was cut for his performance vs off-field drama they have to deal with. If Kluwe was the top punter in the NFL, a team may overlook the extra media attention. As it is, he's a average punter and wasn't worth dealing with the extra media headache and high pay. |

Have the Bears lost their fucking minds? No way I'd pay that for him....lol At least Flacco can say....I won a Super Bowl. |
