Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
Damn, its Thursday and no pregame thread yet?
We still stuck on Seattle? Oh well. Let's move forward into our next mediocre performance. |
Re: Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
Arizona is a good team but if they have to start Logan Thomas I like our chances. I watched Logan for 4 years at VT and if we get the bad LT we should have a good shot at winning.

Re: Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
Somehow I think we put together a game just good enough to win. The Cards have so many injuries and the QB situation is up in the air. And while little of the last two weeks would give rise to optimism, this is the kind of game the Skins win to pull me back from writing off the season (only to later dash my hopes).

I agree. If Thomas starts, we have an excellent chance of winning. He's a great athlete but not a pro-ready QB. |

You must have forgotten the Redskins record vs. Rookie QBS over the years |

True, although we've historically had a very good record against the Cards too. I tend to no put too much stock in stuff like that (e.g., we just broke our streak of Ws on Monday night versus the previous year's SB winner). My thoughts is that if the rookie is starting, and Campbell is out (who I think is probably their best player not named Fitzgerald right now), that's a boost to us. |
Re: Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
If they start Logan I hope they have better success containing the QB. He can make plays with his feet and I think he's faster than Wilson too. Plus like Quake said QB's that don't have any film on them kill the Redskins historically.

Re: Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
If the Skins dont win this game against with LT playing then 2014 is officially over.

Re: Skins vs. Cards Pregame Thread
Arians may also be thinking that it is smarter to start the rookie against a weak team like the Redskins (at home) to get his #1 and #2 more time to get healthy. I suspect that Gruden may have had similar thoughts about not playing Reed last week, as it sounded like he was close to ready before the game -- i.e., why subject him to the Seahawks D and a team we're unlikely to beat if he's not 100% and we will need him for the rest of the season?

True but Logan Thomas in the NFL is one of those project qb's. He's nowhere near ready at this point especially if Haslett throws the book at him. |

Is Palmer definitely out?

No, but I read that they're taking things very slowly with him, as nerve damage is susceptible to relapse. Having said that, he's shown a lot of improvement this past week, and so I think no one knows. But Arians, with the Redskins coming to town, may not want to risk the relapse against a team that he believes they can and should beat even without Palmer. Either way, the Redskins absolutely have to generate pressure and hit whomever is under center. |
