London Fletcher
 

During every era of football, we have seen former players become coordinators and eventually head coaches. Jack Pardee, Mike Ditka, Dan Reeves, Jason Garrett, Jack Del Rio, and most recently our own Todd Bowles.....but my question is could London Fletcher cut it as a defensive coordinator or a head coach if given the opportunity?

I lost a little respect for Fletcher after he pants Hasslett in front of everybody. Always thought he was classier than that. I've cursed Hasslett as much as anyone but wtf. You would think he would make a great LB coach. I'd hire him and make every fn swinging richard on the team model his training regimen. 16 years at MD linebacker he knew how to keep his body ready to roll. (Jordan Reed)

If he wanted it, and was as committed to coaching as he was playing, I'd be 100% in here on our team

Would have to agree with CrustyR lost some respect for him. I do think if he put the time in he could be a good coach.

I'm sure he could, but right now it looks like he's trying to jump start a career in the media.

Fletcher is too self-centered to be coaching anybody. Besides, why do fans think that because they are good players, they'll be good coaches? We hear this crap all the time with Green, Monk, Grimm, etc...

Passion, dedication, ability to inspire and defensive football knowledge.... I'd say chances are if he wanted to, he'd make a solid position coach at the least. Because he meets all those criteria.

Agreed....people like to bypass the topic and talk about how they don't respect him anymore because of what he said about Haz...but if he played in Haz's defense and he didn't agree with what Haz was calling then he has a right to air that. If Fletcher feels Haz was clueless as hell then there's a good reason why he would report that.

Loyal readers of The Warpath know that Fletcher is a big phony as far as his public image vs who he really is, sort of along the lines of another fan fav Darrell Green.

He was never interested in helping out the younger guys here, coaching them up, mentoring, etc. He showed up for work and was basically all about himself. Nothing wrong with that if that's who you are, but that's not coach material. Coaches tend to have a degree of selflessness and a desire to give a big piece of yourself back to your players. You have to be willing to grind 80 hours a week in the name of improving others, that's not Fletcher.

He's more interested in pursuing a 2nd career in the media so again that kind of tells you who he is and where is focus lies.

peyton manning's the most likely player -> coach currently. he already coaches the WRs and parts of the pro bowl (when he's there).
